If you are catching 4 lbers then you are doing well. it’s probably just a matter of time before you connect with the bigger ones. The margin for error when the water is that cold can be very small. And even when properly layered the weather can challenge you severely to the point where you fish too fast, lose you focus, or quit. Switching to a slower reel can help you slow down.

Green pumpkin craw, blue craw, brown craw, oyster, chartreuse perch, dB craw, sugar daddy, bully...chart. Perch is a faded chartreuse with a faded copper back. My favorite lipless color is Red back with gold belly. Jackall calls it Spawn Tiger but I have seen it on other lipless .

That makes me think I am not doing something right. My first tube ripped on my first cast. It was a hard cast but it was only one cast. I am hooking through the worm and tube. This is a worm I was a able to retrieve.

@fishwizzard yes, these are GYCB. How many fish, average, do you get with your tubing? I bought the G7 pliers for their tubing but I could use it with any tubing. Not impressed with G7.
