  1. thanks Glenn, I sent them an email about getting an event in the northeast. If we get an event going, may we incorporate the bassresource name and maybe rally up some volunteers here? Feel free to pm me.
  2. Just for the record, Bill Dance's ENTIRE SHOW is an info-mercial. Granted, it's for my beloved strike-king lures but still....
  3. A note for all board users, especially our newest arrivals. We have many posts about how to use lure A or how to work a certain bait. Just a reminder that up top on this page are some invaluable links. "Bass lure techniques" covers just about every style of bait offered. Please refer to these articles when considering learning a new technique. A good time to post would be when you have done your homework and still aren't having any luck I'm in no way telling anyone not to post, just saying that many of your answers are right there w/o having to wait for replies. Good luck and catch 'em up
  4. Throw it so the return will bring it by structure. Start out w/ a steady retrieve as slow as possible (see "tuning" below) and gradually speed up retrieves to establish the speed they want it at. After the steady retrieve is exhausted w/o a bite, try a mixed up retrieve. reel steadily and jerk rod to side every couple feet or so. Exhaust this retrieve also till a pattern is established. tuning- slower retrieve- fold edges of prop in a bit (closing them a bit) Faster retrieve- open blade edges up a bit adjust in small increments. great reference here: http://bassresource.com/fishing/topwater_bass_fishing.html
  5. I deliver (ups driver) to a good size bsa camp in Rockvillw, RI. They own the lake up there which is jam packed w/ lm and sm. I fish there when camp is out(spring/fall) I would think that the boy scout troop leaders would be teaching the kids. Would I have to become a scout leader to teach fishing or could I show up as a guest?
  6. Time to bring to a repair location. DON'T PULL OUT THE GEL!!! That's a solid state seal. Do not remove.
  7. I think they would kill me dead. This is why 1. I'm only good for about 5 hrs on fresh water so they'll have an extra 3 hrs to catch up. (catch up, lol) 2. They do this for a living, I bet I could deliver more stops if we both got in a UPS truck! 3. They have more tackle 4. I lost my lucky charm last week 5. I would let them win cause I wouldn't want to rain on their parade seeing how their parade is their job. (yea, I'm nice like that, lol)
  8. I've been searching the web for info on the take a kid fishing program. I would like to participate but can't find out who to contact. Any help? We run a saltwater tournament to benefit battered wives and their kids. We take the kids out for one day of the tournament. Captain's only can take them out but it's a great time and very satisfying. I wanted to get involved at a level where the kids are younger and naturally attracted to fishing. When I was on the US freestyle ski team, we also did work w/ the special olympics . I also sent an email to the director(spec olymp) in Vermont to see if we can get somthing going there too. As for now, I just need a contact for the "take a kid fishing program". Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  9. the answers you are looking for are contained in the tens of thousans of posts here. Looks like you've got you're work cut out for you.

  14. I would move out from the bank and find the staging points. Places where they can sit in 6-8 ft w/ 10 ft nearby on one side and the shallows on the other. c-rig and jig the 10 ft water too.
  15. same thing just bigger and done with a machine as opposed to a tool.
  16. These are stamped rivets
  17. I don't know man, sounds like tyhe switch may have melted causing a link between the first gear (or "contact" in the switch) to melt and become 1 with the 3rd. causing 2nd to be 3rd etc down the line.
  18. I bet, that's awesome. Any idea how I could get involved in somthing like that around here?
  19. texasbass-you have just changed my opinion of Gary single-handedly Support the troops that risk themselves for me and my family, and I will join your parade. Way to go Gary.
  20. We keep pretty detailed journals and we track patters also. We use an excel spreadsheet that my ex-g/f (computer friggin genius) set up for us. I've never had them hit on the head like that but they have certainly given us direction and a better look at the big picture when compared yr to yr
  21. and down size your line.
  22. And some days I don't even get that far, I'll text message my boss and say "please put me in a better vehicle today, preferably one with a jet engine and a hull" and he sometimes replies with "catch 'em up".......another successful sick day!
