  1. I remember awhile back, someone here was cleaning out their plastics bag and had like 100 bags that he was willing to give to an up and coming jr. angler. I never heard how that worked out. Have any of the recipients posted with the results of this persons generosity? Just looking for some follow up on a good deed
  2. Twisted- http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=57492&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=7&hvarSubCode=8&hvarTarget=browse I got mine at Dick's sporting goods but lots of places carry zoom around here.
  3. now that's a success story!
  4. that would be the iWAY 500C , but it's an in-car navigation unit, not a fishfinder unfortunately.
  5. Check these, more up top on the page header under "fishing articles" http://bassresource.com/fishing/jig_uses.html http://bassresource.com/fishing/jig_bass_fishing_tips.html http://bassresource.com/fishing/bass_fishing_jig_tips.html
  6. triton who are you more likely to run into sober: James Brown or Bobby Brown
  7. They can go to the bottom of your lake and then some. Places like that are where a fishfinder really comes in handy.
  8. just like a fluke. t-rig. 5/0 ewg no skin hook, lays on back pretty tight so I didn't skin hook it
  9. Amen Avid! Like I said earlier, If you honestly are looking for the info you claim, then go read it. It's all here in the archives and old posts. Tons of it. If you where asking about a specific aspect of angling I could understand but you couldn't have been more vague.
  10. Well, overall we had a tough night . On a positive (kinda) note, I had about 6 swipes on the frog out of maybe the 30-40 casts with it. When I got back in the pads near sunrise, A monster broke hard on somthing on the surface, I mean, the kind of violent strike that makes your hair stand up and you can't get a cast in there quick enough. Anyway, through the frog, and SMACK,..GOOD HOOKSET (UNLIKE THE PREVIOUS 5 STRIKES) and then she wrapped me and broke me off. No idea of size but no minnow, lol. Oh well, I'll keep tryin'
  11. which would you make poor and ugly Paris Hilton or Anna Nicole
  12. I send my condolences. I also got forced off the water Fri night by lightning.
  13. Most guys here don't fish live bait mainly because it's kinda like cheatin' to them, myself included. I only use live bait w/ kids or a girl who I'm tring to get interested in fishing or who I don't want to be bored. The level of fishing that I consider myself at , is one where satisfaction comes with "creating" a bite. Figuring the fish out and offereing somthing that will be presented correctly enough to fool them into a bite. "Shiner " fishing kind of defeats that. It's like "Anyone can catch on shiners" . Look at it like this, live bait is a great way to get and keep newbies interested in the sport and can be considered the 1st lure to "learn" before moving on to the next new lure in the hopes of becoming a versatile, proficient angler.
  14. Whew, at least someone was on last night! Great job! If we were all a team, you'd have some huge shoulders from carrying us,lol
  15. Fished 12:30 till about 5:45, 6 fish between the both of us. I lost a monster on the horny toad. Broke me off in the pads but that's what I get for throwing 10lb test back there. All fish caught were on a senko or fat ika. No size to speak of. Beautiful night with the moon but this small cold front prevailed. Still a great night to be out there.
  16. Do you think it would be profitable to put the Yamaha name on the bass boat line? Your motors are highly regarded around here in salty RI and I would certainly consider a yamaha if I were in the market.
  17. I'm gonna have to take credit for that one.He picked that up in my boat. I name all my lures. Dirk jig-lure is the blk/brwn rocky ledge 1/8 oz finesse jig. Fishing can produce some severe comedy.
  18. Catch 'em up hawghunter, CATCH 'EM UP!! I can feel it already as sure as I felt the wind change fro s5 to nnw20 in 2 mins last night!! Yeeea, thanks guys, keep it comin' Dirk, Nathan has your headlamp, hit me on the radio when you are heading out.
  19. OK, CALL ME CRAZY BUT I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING. WHEN I ENCOURAGE MY PARTNER WITH POSITIVE COMMENTS, HE PRODUCES AND I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THAT SELFISHLESSNESS COMES BACK TO YOU IN POSITIVE WAYS. SO HELP ME OUT . I'M GOING FISHING IN A COUPLE HOURS, MIDNIGHT TILL WHENEVER. HOW ABOUT A COUPLE POSITIVE VIBES

  22. If I see a gator here in Rhode Island, I'm going to a psycho-therapist.
  23. My buddy was on the Yamaha web site and was looking at the G3 Jon's . He bought one. Got it home and the manufacturers tag says "manufactured by skeeter marine co." So is Yamaha just a distributer and are all G3's sold by Yamaha made by Skeeter?
