  1. Send any help to: Ronnie Lamb 4002 HWY 78W P.O. Box 530-129 Snellville, GA 30039 Thanks, Russ
  2. That's more than normal, that's beautiful.
  3. swivel at the hook?? Really not weightless anymore. That swivel also won't stop line twist.
  4. big baits=big fish
  5. Arkansas shiner and Albino ghost, ....like heroine for fish, they can't say "no"!! And with a red hook in there, the inner body appears to be blood filled or,...."alive"
  6. Nothing stopping you now man!! That's great, hopefully you and your dad can start a fishing thing together. I wish my dad fished. Awesome, feel free to pm me if you want any help. Good luck and catch 'em up!
  7. thanks everybod!! Fluke- I prefer the term "experienced" lol
  8. absolutely. Tarpon run in the morning and peacock bass all afternoon-puerto Rico Black marlin-Hawaii or venezeula Tuna on the fly-New England or ANYWHERE else there are lots of fish and no timeclock!
  9. lol no lock on my livewell though
  10. I turned 38 today and my g/f just informed me that she's giving me $300 towards a new set-up. She knows I've been looking at rods for next year, particularly the airrus n-synch so she 's helping me with the first one. She's a keeper!! ;D
  11. use these quick pics to see how an ewg hook keeps the point in-line with the eye and lays flat on the baits back. Last pic is to show how you can "skin-hook" the tip back into the bait for a weedless advantage. Hope that helps
  12. Gin clear in New England
  13. So is it paying to launch or fish? If I wanted to fish from the bank, would they charge me?
  14. because someone owns them? Privately?
  15. On another post, someone was saying that it cost $16 to get on a certain lake. Is this somthing common? Paying to fish? Is it like a private pond that's loaded so the owner charges admission? Are you gaurenteed anything? Are the bass on salary or hourly? Do they get paid w/ shiners? If so can you just bring shiners instead of money? Do they get benefits? Are they Union bass? If the lakes aren't private, do you pay God? I don't get it.
  16. funny, I have a spidershaft rod with a stradic on it sitting at the bottom of a reservoir in Massachusetts. Lesson of the day---PAY ATTENTION!
  17. Keep fishing and you will have a rod all but pulled out of your hands eventually. "Bone-jarring" is a term of expression. Bones don't actually break or dislocate. when your line gets tight and you reel down to the fish and then set the hook,....well if you set it good and hard and theres a bigun at the other end, you'll understand real quick.
  18. this week it's senko horny toad or buzz frog jig sorry , no bread n butter, watchin' my carbs
  19. After you trim the bristles, don't forget to fan them out.
  20. 3X baits for.10c/pack?? I had a dream like that once when I was younger.
  21. Good point Fluke. Downsizing is usually a priority before color change When I refer to downsizing, I am not just talking about size. "Action" can be downsized as well. This is what I was refering to when I spoke of changing from a prop or buzz lure to a frog or somthing that can be just "twiched". If I have confidence that I am where I need to be in the water column, I'll change presentation within that zone.
  22. I'm kind of with playmaker. I will experiment (slightly) with color, but only from dark to light or visa versa but not for the actual "color", more the hue. When it comes to topwater, I will switch lures from a buzz or prop bait to a toad or crippled shad (from very loud to very subtle baits)
  23. Thanks for the comments, hmm lets see.. 1. The seats. No, adding the seats created zero instability. 2 points though. I had a light duty 12 once where adding the seats did make it a bit tipsy. I had 15 inch pedestals but when I changed them to 7", it was much better. However, this boat has an unusually wide beam. Extremely stable for a jon boat. 2. The herculiner on the bottom does create drag but this boat is used in a t/m only lake. There is an equation where you can see the max possible speed of your boat without getting it on plane and for my boat, it's 4.2 miles an hour so w/a 55 lb thrust motor, I get the 4mph out of it no prob. any larger of a t/m and I'll just be pushing more water till on plane. The pic below is the old light duty w/ the higher pedestals. THis boat is a no-no. Lower pedestals were a must. This boat was like riding a skateboard on ice.
  24. also I don't know if these are local stores but we have a store here called "benny's home/auto", they have great bargain bins right now.
