  1. I'm opening a day care.... no other guesses?
  2. Right on man!! We fish for stripers with the kayaks here in RI but we are inshore, salt water. We fish a reef that gets lots of crashing wave action on it, it'll pick up a 30' boat and drop it on the rocks in a blink but the fish are THERE. What we came up with is we launch on the beach off to the right and paddle out in front and both drop an eel (30ish ft) Whoever hooks up first, the other guy gets to him and clips the leash onto his stern and proceeds to keep the angler off the rocks. Whoever gets the second hit, it goes to the other guy and you just keep taking turns. GREAT times, HEADS UP fishin'. Keep on paddlin' man, Catch 'em up!!
  3. I get out on the ice a few times thru the winter and then theres always the 80 gal fish tank.....
  4. funny SQ, I remember shooting the breeze about car audio with you a few years back and here I am getting ready to do my 4runner after 2 yrs of no bumpin. I'm curious to see what has become of the car audio scene, the gear in particular. I'll probably stick with the tried and true w7's for the low end tho.
  5. Thanks for the input everyone I'll let you know how we make out
  6. Well from what they are saying without even coming yet is that I should be able to fully run the house which is very heavily loaded and still have enough to sell back to the grid. The set up costs are between $8-15k but you are then eligible for up to $7k n rebate $. My bill is upwards of $800/mo Redlinerobert has a friend in Cali who has a 6 car garage and the panels on it power this guys entire estate which is the whole side of a mountain (literally) and there's extra getting sold back and the only panels he has are the ones on top of the garage. I was just wondering if there were any other people actually using it and their results
  7. I'm looking to go solar here at the house. Consultant is coming next week. I was wondering if any of you run a good size solar operation, curious about your stats. Any feedback?
  8. subtle conditions, deadly bait
  9. Oh, they get plenty big, state record here in little 'ol Rhode Island is 6lbs-11oz A 3 lb Pickerel looks like a torpedo!
  10. MS Slammer, Spro BBz1F,Rago Rat.... Renosky Crippled Shad (twitch bait) Baby 1- (as a twitch bait)
  11. Thats a Grass or Barred Pickerel. You can tell by the tell tale black line running horizontally through the eye and face. Only way to truly tell if it's a Pike is to see a close up of the gill plate or the mandible pores on the bottom of the jaw.
  12. My fishing partner of 20+ yrs just got one of those hand held recorders from work, for recording meetings and such. WHY DIDNT WE THINK OF THESE YEARS AGO??? HOW may times have you been in the boat with your buddy and after an hour of only hearing rods whip and reels spinning, when one of you says something thats just completely hilarious? We were reminiscing about some of the funny times we've had in the boat and realized that we've surely forgotten more than we can remember. Cell phones have had this ability for years and we've never taken advantage of it, shame on us. Looking forwrd to recording some of the ridiculous stuff that comes up next year.....
  13. ATTABOY! Hoping she was put back to spawn again and again, those are the genetics you wanna keep in your local lake!! Great job!
  14. Cool kid dude!! Luv the hook set
  15. I'll second that.
  16. This is the day b4 a hurricane....luv that pre- front http://m.youtube.com/?reload=3&rdm=m97jn41sb#/watch?v=0VOuC0xrUuY We caught on every one of those that day, I think I caught 6 or 7 which is a stellar day for me if I'm only throwing the big baits
  17. Big Red (the boat) IS the lucky charm. That and my rods which were all either gifts or made for me. They pack karma and karma catches fish!! (well,....karma backed confidence does anyway, lol)
  18. I think u can get them for $30-45 now but u need to remember, these are large, wooden wake baits,....only way to lose one is to have it break off in a fish's mouth. Even if you snap it off on a cast, u just drive the 1/4 mile and go scoop it up but be quick, before a fish decides to make it breakfast, lol. If u play with swimbaits you'll quickly see that this is one of the more affordable ones and the easiest to duplicate in a woodshop As always, for me, it comes down to value. This is my third season throwing this same bait, every cast. Can't tell u how many big fish its seen, more than $50 worth tho!
  19. Wake baits
  20. She's got what it takes. This girl buried herself deep in the hydrilla,.....made her unslop the pig all on her own and the smile will show you,....she's got this. Darn, can't load pic from my phone yet, ill be back later to reload
  21. It was definitely an adventure and Big O is right, the change of pace was nice and it prepped me for striper fishing later in the season as they drag u all over the place in a kayak. The bait was free, I made it but it would be $50 to replace it (ms slammer) as my shop was dismantled at the time (was moving) I had a miracle that day. The turtle had one hook (owner ST, no joke) in the mouth. I got it to shore but couldn't get it up the rip rap, it kept back peddling towards the water. So in its struggles. It got the 2nd hook in its hand from trying to free the first hook in its mouth. Oy Long story short, all I could find was dead branches for a tool....I grabbed one and first poke, the stick disintegrated and both hooks shot free,.....I was dumbfounded and.psyched all at once, lol
