  1. ALL GREAT QUESTIONS! ALL GREAT ANSWERS! But just to add a couple sidenotes to the answers already given. A.)When bait is balled up, you want to target the zone just under them. THis is where the weaker fish will be getting picked off first. The bass will feed on that pod of fish in many ways from picking at the edges to thrashing right through it but the sick, slow, injured baitfish will always fall to the bottom of the pod and then eventually right out of the pod where they become dinner for Larry largemouth. So I like to target the bottom of the baitfish school with rat-l-traps,jerkbaits,etc. Just somthing else to try. B.)THIS IS bassmaster university as far as I would be concerned. Only difference is the teacher to student ratio. 2500 teachers per student,....BEAT THAT! GOOD LUCK AND CATCH 'EM UP!
  2. Hmmm, that's a good one. Are the holes only in certain areas or in clumps?
  3. plus you're building a "partner" list the whole time. My partners list is huge now and there is always someone to fish with.
  4. could have been a pickerel.
  5. That would be the window that I would probably be shooting for also. Pre-front conditions are my favorite. Good luck and be safe! (after all, there IS a hurricane coming!!)

  7. well there ya have it. Gambler deals with these issues everyday so I would stick there with the advice. I've only painted aluminum boats personally. However, back to interlux products. (not an endorsement) Gambler, have you viewed these paints? I understand that PPG, house of color, dupont, sikkens, etc are primarily made as "automotive" paints but interlux is the mainstream brand of boat paint. They are huge and have many systems for different applications,i.e. top decking, hull paint, striping, etc. Could you (gambler) do us a favor and check their web site and give us a professional opinion from bassers point of view? http://www.yachtpaint.com/usa/default.asp
  8. I'm with Brad but someone will have to let me borrow it seeing how I refuse to purchase it after that '05 Classic manuever he pulled.
  9. wow, nice score. A 12' is absolutely fishable for 2 people. Been doing it for 25 yrs. I've done it in both a light duty and a heavy duty. With pedestals but keep them to 7-9 inches.
  10. Filet, allll day Own the contents of a small tackle shop or everything in Raul's garage and basement?
  11. be careful, that spool could be spring loaded.
  12. Mako marine international-no association with Tracker. Serious, high quality boats. I owned a 2502cc for 3 yrs, best hull I ever had. Triton also offers boats that would be suitable for both salt&fresh. you have tons of options in that price range. Narrow it down and you'll get some better answers.
  13. I sanded mine (orbital sander-35 grit). Sand blasing is the ultimate option. Once you get down to the boats original color (which is more like a primer green) You can stop. The next step (solvent wash) will remove the rest from the primer down. Revert to this post for sanding/painting steps/stages and feel free to pm me or re-post http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=boating_ID;action=display;num=1119359773

  15. I've used cabelas and sea nymph dry bags and both are irreplacable. I'd be out of alot of money w/o them!
  16. interlux paints are designed exclusively for fiberglass/marine application. Great stuff but we are way ahead of ourselves. Let's get the basics first and take it from there. This is the paint job I did on my jon. http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=boating_ID;action=display;num=1119359773 Not what you are looking for but if you read the steps involved, you can tell if you even want to get involved in such a project. Keep in mind, you will be skipping the "metal-etching" steps because your boat is not aluminum.
  17. I replaced my magazine subscriptions with this web site!
  18. BPS has them. I have the master cataloque if you want me to look up an item number. I need boat specifics. (type-jon,v-hull,etc) motor, y or n.

  20. Well, you're going to need to give a bit more info!! Let's start with the size and type. (bass,v-hull,etc) even better if you have a pic.
  21. Great info, thanks guys!
  22. Greetings, pull up a chair and let us know what you're thinking.
  23. a.) Beef up your line, even if it's just to 10 or 12lbs b.)Check guides by wiping them with a cotton ball, any nicks will grab the cotton C.) ALWAYS wet your knot (spit works well) before cinching it down and make sure it didn't loop and get caught on the nitch at the hook eye.
