  1. ifishflorida- bucket of a mouth, but skinny. Yours has potential to be much bigger than knkfiends if it were a different time of year. I think Ifishfloridas point is that photos are decieving. When I said "ditto", I was being lazy but I would guess 2.75-3.25 tops for knkfiends fish. To assist with ifishflorids point, this fish weighs 3.2lbs
  2. HI! Look forward to getting to know you. Is your husband on the board too or is this going to be your personal advantage over him?, lol.
  3. Or in my freshwater case, ahem, you know I do own a 21 ft center console ,lol, but in my red jon, a dunkin donuts cup with lid removed serves for a suitable bilge pump replacement ;D
  4. watch, 3000 by the weekend, woohoo!! Glenn, your "baby" isn't a "baby" anymore!!
  5. um,...blub,blub,blub no plug in my boat, scuppers ;D Good one though
  6. I thought it might be helpful to some if we made a list of things to check on your boat before leaving on a trip. This is my list. Please add anything you do that I don't (yet:)) Hook up trailer-check lights (brakes also if applicable) Turn on batteries, 1,2,both(make sure switch functions) Check all electronics, radio(s), radar, finder, etc. Check fuel/oil and fuel-water seperator Safety equipment check-class 1 lifesuits(offshore) life jackets(inshore),flares, anchor(s),throwable flotation, check eperb Check extinguisher system for charge Start motor Kill switch(to be checked when motor is started) Boat lights First aid kit All boat papers/permits/liscences Go fishin'!
  7. Most chargers have an automatic shut off but that should have been on a 2amp trickle charge anyway. I can't see a trickle charge frying a battery, ever. I use sears diehard batt's. They now make one with a 200 min reserve which is huuuuge. I bought 2 this year for the price of last years 1 optima battery. (they are great but too much money!) I get almost 9 hours of use on 1 battery now. Incredible.
  8. Try these for ideas and google "jon boat conversion" http://www.myjonboat.com/gerry.htm http://bassresource.com/fishing/bass_boat.html Good luck.
  9. The key is that you now have to pay extra for the same info a regular membership got you. I don't like being played personally. Dropped my membership.
  10. fishingrulz1234- WAY TO GO!! rebasser- WAY TO GO!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  11. Was in my local stream today and got an exclusive pic of the ever elusive bait monkey. If money is tight and you see this creature,..... run.
  12. checking the kill switch is always part of my pre-trip inspection. I have had them go bad on my saltwater rigs before. Salt gets in between the contacts.
  13. fishingrulz1234, "that guy" is your president.
  14. One big happy, growing family here. Welcome aboard, look forward to getting to know you.
  15. My dam consists of a rip rap wall about 300 yards long. Jigs are the reigning winner up that way for me. I have friends that crank it often also but the jig seems to outproduce them consistently.
  16. My boat is fire engine red and they love it!,lol They can't seem to stay out of my glorious red-azz boat !
  17. PLUS A DAB OF SUPER GLUE ON THAT SPIKE AND YOU'RE HOME FREE!
  18. Not to be negative but scHools have been getting music and sport program cuts left and right. Around here anyway, it seems the kids are fighting constantly to not get their sports programs cut due to lack of funds. It really is a shame. Not to mention that some guy can swing a bat and make 40 million while the woman teaching our kids can't make enough to survive. I just don't see it happening sadly enough.
  19. I use both. You can never be over prepared on the water.
  20. Exactly, whether it's a hot foot or a trigger throttle, both are spring loaded, when you let go, so do they.
  21. Rattlinrogue, after surviving Katrina, maybe you could be the "high winds" expert!
  22. bowjunkie, hope you bought him a 6-pack!
  23. I made my own "hot foot". I noticed it in mags and always thought it was a great idea to have both hands on the wheel so I had morse cable make me a cable to adapt to my boat. I run a center console (saltwater) so the hot foot wasn't an option but I achieved a "hands free" ride with a trigger throttle. Both hands still on wheel and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Pic doesn't look right because wheel is turned all the way left. When running straight, the trigger sits at the 2 o'clock position.
  24. Glenn- let me re-word. You had the boat done to match the site or had the boat and used its colors for the site?
