  1. Good deal!! Game on!!
  2. Another excerpt from "the book of Chris." My primary honey hole is the clearest water in the state, clarity to 18-20ft, so I especially like this one. I think we have such success with a finesse jig in this water due to it's size and profile. I need to try throwing tubes in there more though. Not just because of the last writting from "the book of Chris", but just because it fits in so many places, especially pertaining to clear water. I only use them for bedding bass but next year I will be throwing them a bit more. Thanks again for yet another quality post, I like it when you're up late
  3. OH MAN!! :) I wouldn't want to be on the boat it ends up on when that karma comes back around. It sounds like you have a good attitude and should be up and running soon but ,geez, that's such a bummer. Did you at least get out w/ the trolling motor and catch a few? Hang tight, some good prop guys on here, don't buy till you get replies if possible.
  4. I have eaten maybe 10 bass in my life. Gut hooks, every one of them. My partner I fish with now likes them more than I do so he has kept any bass we've accidently killed in the last couple years. Either way, if he/she dies in a battle I started, the least I can do is show respect and not let it go to waste.
  5. Phool- There are lots of guys here on the board from Fla. including guides like acstech. Someones GOT to be able to set you straight or at least give you some good durable company.
  6. Good luck this weekend! Catch 'em up!
  7. "Nobody likes Chris" That dude even catches the leaves man,.......ain't nothin' he can't stick..............
  8. Illinois- That's what it's all about for me man! I love fishing with new people. You either learn or teach and I love both. Kids + women Two of my favorite "teach" situations. Sometimes I won't even fish. I really get alot of happiness out of bringing fishing to others. Perhaps I just want more people to understand me.
  9. Brad, Welcome to the forum. Last month I wrote an article (more of a list) on exactly this topic. Pull up this link and "print page" and it will all be right there for you to carry around as you prepare. http://bassresource.com/fishing/boating_checklist.html Lots of useful info in the banner above. Start with "fishing articles" Hope you enjoy the site and CATCH 'EM UP!
  10. roadwarrior, my buddy would say the same thing!! His name is Eric, (A.K.A. Dirk_Jigl-lure) But then there's Kev Vin Bob Nathan etc
  11. But you were doing it right. Sweeping, like a crankbait with a little more of a "pop" after you feel the weight.
  12. I'm with Will on this one. Especially this time of year. Super-fluke and really let it drop deep once in awhile.
  13. scbassin- He's a local New England boy. He's had a show in the sat morning line up for 2 or 3 years now. He's well known in our RI bass clubs and attends many fund raisers and public events. He's a pretty straight up guy, Alot of the challenges, he actually fishes in YOUR lake so it's tough to call in a "rigged" event. They try to make each outting more of an outrageous, crazy fun kind of event as opposed to a hard-core challenge.
  14. Won't hear me laughing,.....I am the jon boat fanatic. Love 'em! Glenn-was watching the 5 minute powepoint presentation Art sent me from CAST. I could have sworn I saw your boat in there. I said to myself that it was worth it to have one with custom colors because the fact that I just picked your boat out in a passing pic, proves it.
  15. Personally I wouldn't throw the buzzbait with that much wind, I would use a spinnerbait. As for those dying weeds, avoid them while they are dying. They give off co2 while dying which is a big turn-off for bass. hang tough, keep asking, we'll get you a bass in the boat one way or another.
  16. Trial and error. Learn from each cast. Where did I catch, where did I not catch. Notice the variables such as weather, wind, time of day etc and try to reproduce the same results next time. Remember, even if we aren't catching, we are learning.
  17. I'm still waiting for "onion" to be the next big thing. ;D
  18. Jaypea, time to hide, I heard the bait monkey has a contract out on you. ;D
  19. that's good business, good for you and good for them!
  20. Anyone interested in this venture, please see post in "everything else" about video editing,...help needed asap.
  21. lol good point on the monkey,..will do!
  22. I look for any visible structure first. Rock fields, standups, lay down, weed beds, points, etc. and let's not forget to employ the knowledge of locals.
  23. ok, here's the deal. I didn't realize that below the entry form on their website, it goes on about sending a videdotape in. I didn't see that part I sent another email to the submission dept stating that the video will be made this weekend and sent on Monday. I'll try and find a way to host the video I make so we can all see it. Stay tuned, "Moore" to come!
  24. In the other Charlie Moore post, a couple guys mentioned the side bet. I forgot to include this but the website doesn't ask you to include it. Both Charlie and I are from New England so I was thinking Quahog shucking or somthing like that. Seeing how it's a team though, street hockey would be awesome. Any ideas for a side bet if we get picked?
  25. Junk? Some villages have one car!...that boat's beautiful and I bet the memories you have from it are too!
