  1. Cafepress will soak you, very expensive, cheesy quality, beware. It does fit a niche, just not at a high quality level. The Jolly Roger,...don't get me going please, I grew up and still spend a lot of time on the ocean and that flag is not respected by real salt folk. You'll be viewed as the "weekend warrior" who is clueless. It's like their monicker. Anyone flying that flag will receive ZERO help from any captain in Narragansett or Cape Cod Bay.
  2. I would think that the speed of your presentation would be more important than any particular bait. or color
  3. huh? contradicting statement Did a particular employee tell you personally that they were all good for salt? The website IS Shimano. and... Not defending the company because they are a affiliated with BassResource,....that might have weight with Glenn, but not with me. I condone or condemn a company based on my personal experience and by the experiences of my friends. Glenn counts on his mods giving their honest opinions, no favoritism here. In my own personal experiences and the few instances I've read about on the board, their customer service has been stellar,...or should I say "Stella" hehe Right down to the fact that they have a dedicated employee on the best known website,...just to address your concerns!! I believe it was KU_Bassmaster that posted about his experiences with them and I ended up buying a calcutta because of it. Just my .02 based on my experiences. Now,...back on topic, I have not used a soron. I DO own a Tierra and wouldn't trade it for anything in it's price range. I've suggested this reel to quite a few members and friends and have not heard a single negative comment yet. It's bulletproof, tight, eye appealing, smooth, light and the drag is top notch. The finish is unscratchable also. LOTS of metal parts, very little, if any, plastic. I like that personally, as long as you can keep it light. A great reel for the price range.
  4. Another night angler here and I'm with Catt 100%. Confidence comes with time and success. The hours he has put in, figuring them out,.....were all night time hours. If he dedicated the same amount of time, the success would come and he'd be catching similar stringers during the day as he does at night.
  5. Potty trained in a boat,... funny Welcome Aboard!
  6. If you'd like to get in on this, there's still plenty of time, just send your pic to membersmedia@gmail.com. Glenn, I am ready to go, just waiting on Patricks stuff. He sent it, but it was all in .mov format, can't use that in movie maker. Hoping he can convert it for me, waiting to hear.
  7. The 1st post is like the "quick reference" basics you would over view as you come into the season. The index card info. (I love it when members like Catt, WRB, Paul Roberts, rolo (?), Big O and many many more start in on a topic like this. The end result could be published. Listen up folks, you won't find this stuff for free anywhere else) Great thread Catt
  8. NICE! Congrats!!!
  9. "Dude......THAT'S MY SKULL!!!!" oh wait,...that was Fast Times at Ridgemont High... ;D
  10. This craze of calling a paddletail (ok, the new ones are a "hollow body paddletail") a swimbait has to stop!!! It's called marketing folks. "Swimbaits" are the hottest, and most highly searched baits recently. These companies that are calling their paddletaisl a swimbait are merely capitalizing on those searches. IT'S A PADDLETAIL!! try the Berkley, I've been watching Dirk catch fish with it all week. I'm still using the super fluke personally, stays in the strike zone longer. huh? Get out from under that rock son!! Swimbaits aren't just for California, they work in ALL states, especially mine, if you have any, send 'em to Rhode Island please!!
  11. Too bad u couldn't hook a smalliesaurus in front of him,....start screaming, tell him to be useful and call the Smithsonian on that fancy radio he's got.....
  12. Change all the lines from 250lb test to 180 lb test (costs about $200 to do 4 reels) Caught 4 fish in 5 days. Smallest fish paid $3k+
  13. No dude, you guys wimped out of "The BIG trip" : : Sounds like a good time
  14. lol,....going in a circle is getting too difficult??? It could be worse,...Give him a 6cyl deisel, 250 stops worth of packages. Tell him to empty it and fill it back up by dinner. Oh yea, for each stop you do, make sure you cover every one of the 71 habits needed to do it correctly. :
  15. Because he's a dink master We don't start night fishing till the pressure builds or till the water temps warm up a tad. It's not just the slow fishing (fish are most active during the warming hours of the day, 11-2) but it's a safety thing too. 45 degree water can seize you up pretty quickly.
  16. A. Cover water B. Imitates baitfish, bass are gorging before the spawn C. They seem to want something moving but moving slow in the beginning, S/B is perfect How often is one tied on then? I don't use them anymore, I'm in the hunt for BIG fish only, but they sure do catch a lot of fish. My guess is you just don't throw it because of lack of confidence or you are running it too fast. also, read up on blade style and size and when each applies best.
  17. the 60 degree mark seems to be the temp they start actively hitting topwaters. A big mistake people make though, myself included till recently, is that they won't work in colder water. We've caught on TW all the way down into the 40's. The bait has to be BIG though,...worth it for the bass to expend the energy. To not throw one, just because the water is cold, will limit your chances if you are hunting the larger class fish. Fish go through the same type of feed (although the forage us usually different) before the spawn.
  18. HOLY TUESDAY is right!!!!!!! Dude.....beautiful fish!!! What a trophy!! and congrats on the win!
  19. He sent me 3 big batches , I'm assuming most are yours. and thanks for "clicking" all week, these will definitely help a ton
