  1. Great post. I agree with Big O, finding the pattern may have been an accident, but recognizing it and reproducing it wasn't.
  2. A memory you'll both have forever, awesome.
  3. Clear water? They may have just been skittish with this bluebird sky.
  4. Exactly. Please don't transport these.
  5. Most times of year, absolutely. This time of year, however, temperature is the main driving factor. We get the same weather as Muddy, but a day later. The warming trend we just went through was a much stronger force for them than the blue skies. In the middle of the summer, that could be quite different.
  6. couple rookie ones from college. -fill album cover w/ baby powder, slide opening under door and step on it very hard - 1/2 fill 55 gallon trash can in shower. Carry and lean up against offenders door. Knock -take a clotheline and start at 1 end of the hall. Tie to 1st doorknob. Loop to door knob diagonally across and continue down the hallway. -switch room around, everything on right goes on left,...EVERYTHING. Posters, furniture, everything. Best done while roomy is out drinking.
  7. Excellent report GW. I would love to get in the boat with you one of these days. I could use a schoolin' to get me to that next level. Maybe next winter, how far are you from the Naples/Marco Island area?

  9. You are already catching class A fish, why would you want to change? The bait works flawlessly on a simple EWG hook. weedless, has the deadly fall, etc, no need to add or change anything. If I HAD to add something, it would be the 2nd fluke to make it a double-fluke rig.
  10. Clipper- Don't put it on the floor, just the walls and door.
  11. awesome. i hate all things earth friendly, eco friendly, eco anything, green, hybrid, and the like. i am so sick of hearing about like this. U might wanna crawl back under that rock,....you're not going to be very comfortable in the future.
  12. Good luck, positive thoughts sent your way.
  13. Agreed, we just ask that you don't harvest the big ones,....especially this time of year, the spawn. Those fish look full of egg and being in Ky, I could almost guarantee they are. Transporting and restocking also requires a permit in most states and for good reason. Please look into your local and state regulations before making these decisions. It's a learning process, now you know (and if you HAVE to take them leave them in the livewell till you are ready for the pic, only reason I can see to bring them in the house would be to fillet them )
  14. Um,.....I'm comin' too 8-)
  15. do you have the link to this video? i looked on youtbe and all i could come up with was videos of pretty girls in swimming pools Yea, I hate it when that happens :
  16. That slime coat is over rated anyway, lol. C'mon Sirsnook, you're an old salt, shame on you!!
  17. For the value, you HAVE to investigate the Prseident line-up. Personally, I would spend the couple dollars more and get a Tierra. You can use it in the salt also. Excellent drag system with a metal clicker, no plastic Finish is rash and scratchproof very smooth and an excellent anti-reverse. The one I bought when they came out is still nice and tight and I honestly don't take care of my stuff. I beat it up and replace it but this thing is still like new.
  18. In New England, we throw them whenever they won't bounce on ice. We are a little crazy, but they WILL work. You need to resolve that it won't be a #'s week, lol The najority of folks are comfortable with 58-60 degrees
  19. Generally, the fish are at that depth, but it can be both. The fish use the entire water column at different times. Sometimes they are shallow, sometimes deep, sometimes, suspended in the middle. On some days, they're all 3.
  20. Don't forget to do your car, shower stall, mountain bike, .....
  21. low-mid end stuff is affordable already and the people who buy high end stuff can afford to buy it new also, one point of cost justification when making the decision to spend on the higher end stuff is the fact that you plan on having it for a loooong time. Low turnover In music, lots of people "try" it. Great market for turnover. With fishing, they buy the gear because someone got them addicted and if anything, when upgrading, they will use the former set up as their 2nd set up or give it to someone else who is just learning. Again, very low turnover
  22. Yup, blue is the color, but I didn't use it once and had 100+ fish days so...... We caught on everything under the sun and on a wide variety of colors. Grn pumpkin, white and watermelon got it done and Bubble gum was hot too. The trick, as Big O likes to point out is that you should change up your colors when the bite dies off. Doesn't really matter which color you put on as long as it's different from the last one you used. If you used light and the bite slows up,...go dark next When I get to a lake that is known for a particular color,....it's the LAST color I will throw. I'd rather offer the fish something it doesn't see repeatedly, every day. It's a great lake to find a pattern on though, as many of the coves and points are duplicated over and over again, up and down the shore. Find one, you'll find more, good luck
  23. We are finding them shallow, but not till the peak warming hours of the day. The fish we've caught deep have been "belly on the bottom" deep. We were marking fish on the bottom, 16 ft, they would not take a drop shot, didn't catch one till I put on a shakey and my buddy used a jig. I'm talking ON THE BOTTOM. Thats all about to change though, they won't be there after this weekend.
  24. That's a 2 hat fish all day long. NICE!
