  1. How much does that salter run Fish? Do they come bigger for salt?
  2. I'm with Mike, I'll take the 10. One of the reasons my home lake is my home lake is because of how beautiful everything is. This TOTALLY includes the Bass. The fish there have beautiful markings, white bellies and often come with a baseball in the gut. Not always though, as pertaining to Rolo's comments. It's just a very healthy, low pressure (as public lakes go) kind of place. Even the Perch here are beautiful!
  3. Lots of good points here!! U never wet my hands before lipping but I do kiss most of them also, lol.
  4. Say what??? Opposite reaction here. I had nonstop foul weather last week for my vacation, was tickled pink. Another week of the same with a more stable barometer??? Game on!
  5. http://radar.weather.gov/ The real deal, click on the blue dot nearest you.
  6. "On the way out",...that's not a "Kelsey Canal" fish is it???
  7. When relaying a days report to a friend heading out, if I say "I got a few nice ones, one was 4.6 and the biggest, a 5 or so, I dropped at the boat." BELIEVE ME,...my buddies know me well enough that if I say I dropped a 5 at the boat, it was probably closer to 6. I purposely don't give the higher end of a guestimate to any fish that didn't hang on the scale. Same goes for my closer partners. If Dirk, or Matt50 or Tin tell me they dropped one "at least" 4, I know there was a fish in the 5'r range hooked today. And Matt is dead on, I've hung a few 7's and 8's that I could have sworn were going to the state for record submission. (RI record is 10.6) but that's because I've only caught a handful of Largemouth that size. These guys that cull 8's in search of an 18,.....THEY know 8's and it's gotta be a little annoying to see an 8 claimed as a 10 when no scale was present. (to them, ......to me, I'd be so tickled with an 8 here on the east coast, I wouldn't have a need to stretch her to 10 )
  8. That's where some poor soul kicked his Steez overboard :-[
  9. My main man Matt with a 4-4.5 lb Largemouth at the Carolina hatchery during the 3rd annual CAST For Kids Alumni day. Most anglers will fish a lifetime in RI and not hold a Bass like this. Big fish of the day was 7lbs 11oz. A HUGE Thank You to all our volunteers, you guys make an impact these kids will never forget!! 100+ in attendance, a great day had by all!! **Just a reminder thanks to all who participated in the CAST raffle on the 4th annual roadtrip. Your money could not be put to better use, ask Matt. )
  10. Right on Kelley!!!
  11. My friend in Fla has an armband of all hooks, he mates on his dads 55' Post His is made of all different kinds of hooks, tangled together.
  12. I noticed that too Is Lois still showing you how it's done Roger? :-? ;D
  13. The Delta is just too big. Everything is spread out. It falls short on many of the criteria unfortunately.
  14. I guess some people just LIKE a wet a$z, personally, I don't. Doesn't have anything to do with sponsorship or TV or any of the other insinuations you keep sticking in there. Get past that please. I am talking about wearing the right clothing for the right condition. Boats are wet. The best fishing is often during inclement weather. I'm just dealing with the way it is -But for the record, I haven't had a North Face contract for over a year. I buy the stuff now,....but still like a dry backside.
  15. I dare you to come fish 6 hrs with me today in shorts and a t-shirt. 50 degrees and raining. Actually, "Tin" probably would, lol, the kid is constantly underdressed. I mean,...flip flops? .....it's SNOWING! lol
  16. A former roommate once swore that some 10 lb + fish he'd seen in a creek pool were crappie. When I corrected him and said they were likely "carp" he acted like I was crazy. Later I confirmed that they were, in fact, carp. Doesn't hurt to check with more than one source. or just compromise and call 'em "Carppie"
  17. That stuff might be what you wear in the rain and snow, but not me. Being able to stay out there when the bite is on has everything to do with fishing and it's nowhere near as easy in soaking wet jeans. Gore tex is Gods gift to fisherman. Doesn't have to be a big brand name either, lots of affordable stuff out there nowadays. It's not an elitist thing as insinuated above.
  18. 10-20 minutes (call it 15), ask any fisheries biologist. You guys need to remember, it takes a brain made up of different parts (parts a Bass' brain doesn't have) to have cognitive thought. Rationalization and reasoning are not even physically possible.
  19. BS,...You LOVE the high end techy clothing..........you are always matching........c'mon now, noone's calling you a metrosexual just because you have your crap together man!
  20. Absolutely, good gear is a necessity to put in the hours and the good gear is usually decent looking. Colors don't matter as long as their natural,......or black. For a brief do's and dont's, watch the beginning of this video from '06 8-) ;D http://lowbudgethookers.com/fall.wmv
  21. (PMT) Specific mtn time- Family guy is on at 7 specific mtn time, likem "It'll be on specifically at 7" Off topic but I hate when the language gets murdered. One I've been hearing often is "Acrosst" or "Accrossed" in a sentence....."He was looking acrossed the lake"
  22. He's up there baggin DD's RIP fellow angler
  23. Well, they didn't turn into werewolves up here, but 2.5 lbrs turned into 3.5 lbrs!! lol
