  2. Yea,...I have a buddy that needs a wake up call.
  3. Anyone have that pic of the piling through the guys leg?
  4. What you are looking to do is called "hand lining". There is an actual aparatus used for this, pictured below. Keeps it all neat and you can replace the cloth line with monofilament if you like. I have some very fond memories of hand lining off the bridge in Colt State Park with my Nana. Ptobably one of my very first fishing experiences, I might have been 3-4? You triggered some nice thoughts with this thread

  6. It seems lately that we only need to step in once YOU get on the thread. Seriously,............. enough, the immature crap needs to end, ....like TODAY Thread cleaned.
  7. Captain Obvious It's under "F" ;D
  8. He's your size? That changes everything. How much does your average aquarium guppy weigh? wouldn't that totally suck to be on the 5 th annual roadtrip and come out the first morning to find your trailer on blocks and your wheels hanging 30 ft up in the trees? Keep 'em coming :-*
  9. I fish 250lb Jen-cai for Bluefin. Maybe I should try it on the "small guys" like the rest of you? ;D
  10. I'd like to think that from 1-6 lbs, I can get it within 1/2 a lb My legal guess is 4.25-4.75 TOPS
  11. We'll never know. The claim was "over 7" I say absolutely no way. Between 4-5. (and the angler is my size plus a couple lbs)
  12. Nice Marty!! Clean
  13. No Matt, Carbuncles grow on rocks by the ocean and on the undersides of saltwater boats.
  14. I feel bad for slim jim eaters too. NASTY BTW- anyone ever squeeze one? what's the orange slime that comes out???
  15. Back in your balcony you two!!...,.......anyone else?
  16. Guess the weight *Note-Fish is not held in the typical LBH pose. She is close to his body, tricky.
  17. Some interesting conversation here, lol. Carbuncle, eh? I don't know,....lots of much better water nearby. As for the video,....you mean this one?? NEW RI RECORD
  18. Narrow your goals. It's a minor accomplishment to catch "a" fish on a jig, a certain worm or lure. It's another thing to master the jig. I would suggest concentrating on decreasing your arsenal goals and increasing your awareness goals. Pick 1,2 or 3 methods/baits cover the water column from top to bottom (i.e.- jig, Mattlures b/g, spook) and bring nothing else all season. Not only will you master these 3 baits/methods but you will be able to decipher where the credit goes. In other words, you catch a fish and ask yourself,..."am I finding where the fish are or am I changing baits enough?" By using the same baits, all the time, it's evident, you are finding the fish. Follow? By narrowing your goals to some of the more important growth elements, the other small stuff will happen alongside it.
  19. Avoid Ritchie White if you are looking for versatility. He will only put you on bedding fish. You'll catch the same fish as his last client and if it's muddy, forget it. When we hired him, he was incapable of getting us on the fish the other guides were putting people on out on the main lake. He's very internet savvy so he seems to be very prevalent but I would go with one of the guides mentioned in the above quote first. I got my $ back, but still....I didn't catch fish at Lake Fork
  20. It's noticeable but won't stop the bait from working. Heavier hooks, you have to work the bait faster, lighter=slower. The same size hook really is ideal for operating it at it's optimum speed IMO. Yes, they will work but look into grabbing some 6's or lighter wire 8's Also, I actually unscrew the hook mounts and just add epoxy when re-assembling. No split rings here. Discontinued run info is false. It's ok though, having 8 of them and only paying $3.25 ea..... is a GOOD thing.
  21. Gamakatsu sharpness is somewhat of an illusion. Their hooks have a fine point that rolls over very easily. You can say that again!! Gammy's are also the ONLY hook (other than the time I tried the Banjo minnow) that I have straightened. It's happened more than once and always with a Gammy, including a Tuna that would have brought me at least 4-5k. (Yea, that one left a sour taste in my mouth) I've been an Owner user for a good 5 yrs now. After some discussion w/ Owner, the ST's will be the hooks that come with my Working Girl Wake Baits. Talk about a sticky hook, holy cow! I will also be selling them separately for .75 ea instead of the typical $1-2 as found in the shops.
  22. and feel free to enter more than 1 pattern This is the bait
