my buddy lives near a 10 ft wide and maybe 15ft deep canal. i have tried fishing there on a junebug zoom and had two bits but thats all. the canal is in south fl with the typical blackwater around florida. you can see bass, panfish, and some gar swimming around. the is sometimes alot of vegitation so what weedless lures would you guys reccomend??

steelers fan? dam lol.. yea its a little private pier that the area where my grandma lives owns.. i'll try that i didnt know you can catch fish from shore in lake erie. if you catch largies from shore i'll throw t-rigged worms,some crainkbaits and i'll try those topwaters.

never seen both of those species in person but i have seen a rock bass in an illustration and those huge eyes looks just like it.

On thursday im leaving with a friend and my dad up north to ohio..im taking a car so I will fish along the way if theres water nearby thats conviently located for whenever we decide to take a pit stop. I will target bass along the way but if i see trout streams what lures should i get for them[spinning tackle].. And when i reach ohio my grandma lives in ashtabula [50 mi. away from cleveland] about a 50ft walk away from lake erie. any way i can catch fish from the small rock pier on the southeast coast of lake erie??? thanks 4 any help ;D

the other day as i was leaving the lake to ride my bike home a lady told me that the anhinga outside her house was caught on something. so i crept as close as i could(about 5 ft) from it and i saw something stuck on his beak that prevented it from opening its mouth. :'( it is a small lake and he should still be around.. does anyone have any numbers i can call??

i'll take a stab at the tarpon just b/c i have never caught one. but my mom and cuzin from finland will be there so maybe some tips on fish i can eat like pompano?

On thursday im leaving to go to the keys and im goin to take my 8 ft rod with 30 lb test braid. I will try beach fishing from the hotel beach. I will be about 4 miles away from the downtown keys area. suggestions for preferably dead bait because im going to need the space in the car. not really looking to throw lures just because its the keys i just want to cast something out and let it sit. 8-) insight/bait choice? also if you have a addictive fishing forum u may have noticed that i posted this topic there aswell..i posted it here because i am more likely to get the help i need.

dade and broward canals are the best climate for the fish.

thanks 4 the info. i havent went back to lake osborne since posting but yesterday i caught a nice fish one a zoom junebug plastic at my local lake, and i've never fish it and i didnt know there were bass there..im really interested in the senkos you guys are talking about im going to buy some from bps hopefully today.

if your talking florida bass i dont think 75 degrees will slow there metabolisim. maybe the action will heat up some but the winter cool fronts is what makes you have to go reeeel slow on your retrieves..

today i went fishing at a local pond and one my last cast i got my only fish of the day.. maybe a 3-4 lb largemouth..but this one had a thin narrow lateral line like a snook rather then the common bold zig-zag.. explanations??

live bait like pilchards..hard baits like x-raps..and there are soft plastics but im not familiar. try reading product reviews at bass pro shoppes in the salwater fishing category and it might lures to try for snook.

wow its like a spitting image of my fishing story..but im still 14..and my only family relative who fishes is my uncle in finland ...lol

im not sure if my biggest fish was 8 lbs but close anyways...and it fought hard but compared to the smaller 3-5 pounders i think they fight less hard with a weight ratio..

try the shaky head technique..i havent tried it but it sounds nice for the fish you describe..

are you talking about the really small pond near the clubhouse with some mangroves in it?? there is tons of bait in there i know we caught so many different species with the castnet..i usually fish at the one south of the p-lot in the center of the course...
