  1. I ended up going with the 7'2"M-XF like I thought. I went to the local shop and tried the 6'9"M-F and XF, the 7'2"M-XF and MH-F. I was really tempted by the 6'9" but opted for the longer rod. Just ordered it from TW so hopefully I'll get it the beginning of next week.
  2. it has a few battle scars. I'd take 80 for it.
  3. They make a NASCAR rod....
  4. I have a Pti-a 30 I'd sell you, it's used but in pretty good shape. I like the energy spinning reels. They feel solid and have a really good drag
  5. I understand that but honestly, catching it in the first place is "removing" it from it's natural habitat and molesting it. That's what fishing is, you may put it back but the fish would have been better off not being removed in the first place. It's kinda like the net/no net debate, some say that nets remove slime coat so don't use them, they increase the mortality rate. The other side says that letting them flop around on carpet or in grass increases the mortality rate, I've always said I'd like to see a study on the mortality rate of them have a hook shoved through their face. I'm not calling you out or picking but I'm just saying, you may think one way or the other on such subjects but there are deeper contradictions there. I mean, you can't be a vegetarian most of time, except for the occasional cheeseburger and when the McRib is back That's always what I thought I'd try to do, I could handle a replica for the donation. You honestly never know what would happen in such a situation.
  6. They work quite well. The bulbs on the legs float like the tail of the squirrel tail worms. It has a subtler action than a brush hog when worked. I used them for the first time last month at Guntersville and they were killing the talapia magic after the bite slowed on a brush hog. The one down side is they are quite thin and the bulbs tear off easily. They are worth the buy, a pretty good mix between a creature and a shakey head worm. work great t-rigged or on a jig head.
  7. The 704 is a pretty good rod, it's pretty versatile. You should love it.
  8. Id look through the flea market here...lots of good stuff from time to time
  9. I use Pline CXX and on the first few casts it looks like a curled phone cord lying on top of the water. After you fish it, stretch it, and get it wet, it'll straighten out and isn't a hindrance for me.
  10. Thanks for the input guys. I am still going to try to get my hands on them first but may end up with the M-XF. Sounds more suited for the weights I want to use with it. I'd love to have a core 50 to put on it but my alphas Ito will have to do.
  11. I'm looking into getting a Cumara and was wondering what noticeable differences there are in the fast and extra fast actions of the 7'2" casting rods. Also wondering the power differences of the M and MH in the 7'2". I know the differences in actions and powers in general, just wondering for this specific rod. For example, I have a 7'M and 7'MH daiwa zillion but the 7'MH fishes like every other H I've used and is much more than any MH I've had experience with. Any input or advice is appreciated, I plant on using 12lb line for things like shakey heads, tubes, Texas rigs, and maybe some small finesse jigs. My main concern is I don't want a light and whippy tip like some XF actions can be, if that's the case, I'll probably go for the F. I am going to take my reel and try to compare the feel of the different rods if I can find them locally. I really just decided this last night so haven't had a chance to get my hands on the different models.
  12. Wouldn't use it for cranking but I'd buy it in a heart beat.
  13. with that name they should be made by moaner or reaction innovations
  14. Personally, I couldn't put anything behind any revo I had without an overrun, never had that problem with my curados.
  15. I'd say the crankin stick is the best deal. If you're either tight on budget or don't do alot of crankin, it's all you need.
  16. You should be able to take to where you got it, I think most of it depends on the sellers willingness to cooperate.
  17. I have 3 Sols and an Alpha and another Alpha on the way. I use them for just about anything I feel comfortable using 10-12lb line for. My Sols are used for cranking, one for shallow runners and topwater, one for deep divers, and my other is just an extra at the moment. The only reason they are cranking reels is because they match a carrot stix gold almost perfectly and they're my cranking rods. I use my Alpha for a mix of things, it's on my tube rod but also fish shakey heads, 1/4oz and under Texas rigs, smaller weight finesse jigs, jerkbaits, dropshot, ikas, and senkos.
  18. I had LASIK last year around this time and so far I couldn't be happier. Haven't had any real problems except some slight light sensitivity on bright days but that's remedied by sunglasses. It took me around 2 weeks to fully recover. I was fine for every day things after day three, slept the first two days after the surgery, the first was recommended, the second was due to headaches from the light sensitivity. I say it took two weeks to fully recover because I had some issues focusing on computer, tv, and phone screens. This was the only problem for me because I do ultrasounds and spend 10 hours of a 12 hour work day staring at a computer screen. I would recommend it to anyone. It can be a bit pricey but don't make your decision of a doctor based on price. I couldn't afford it either but was approved for a Care Credit card that made it easier to pay for. They offered no interest for the first 12 months if paid in full when I applied, not sure if that's still available but worth a look. Just be sure they accept it before you apply.
  19. Those are the sizes I use for those techniques, as for color, watermelon and watermelon red are the only colors I use in the kut tail worms.
  20. My pick under $200 would be either a Curado 200 or 50. Both come in LH and can be found for $150 on eBay.
  21. I like the smaller baits like the pointer 65 or 78 and the owner Cultiva rip'n minnow 65. Aurora black is my favorite jerkbait color.
  22. Fizzy lifting drink..... In central KY it's a mix between soda and pop....eastern ky it's just pop and most people around here don't mess with water unless it has co2 and high fructose corn syrup in it.
  23. Tube, dropshot, senko
