  1. You've gotta land fish on a swimbait pretty quick. You can't jack around with one or it'll throw it.
  2. Never fished the Zoom but have caught plenty on the Jackall Cross Tail Shad in Purple Swoke and Black Winnie
  3. I have several Plano boxes that have warped, the front of the lid bows and the corners lift up in a "smile". Some of these boxes are for cranks, some jigs, some plastics so I don't think in matters what is stored inside. I've noticed it mostly on the yellow latch Stowaway boxes and no so much in the CDS Stowaway boxes
  4. Suspending jerkbait
  5. I like Owner Stingers and Mustad Triple Grips
  6. I have a 6'6'' MH Fenwick Eagle GT that I bought on clearance at sportsmans warehouse for I think $35. I use it to fish small ponds and lakes from shore. It is by far the best fishing sub $100 rod I have ever used, I have a Veritas, Vengence, F&S Tech Spec, and a Carrot Stix Wild and would choose the Eagle GT over each of them.
  7. To take the handle off you tighten the drag, push the star down and unscrew the handle...hard at first but easy once you get the hang of it. Took mine apart today for a cleaning. Let me know if you need any help with it.
  8. I try to aesthetically match my combos when possible. How the combo looks factors into the purchase for me. The Damiki on the far left now has a Fuego on it and the Zillion is on a Zillion rod but the others are the same Stradic/Damiki Pixy/Carrot Stix
  9. Any of those reels seem to be a good choice. I have a Stradic CI4 2500 and a Pflueger Supreme XT 30. I love both those reels and it's hard to choose my favorite between the two. Honestly, my decision would be based on the rod and matching color schemes, my CI4 is on a Damiki Dark Angel and my Supreme is on a Pinnacle Perfecta, both match pretty good. I see you are pairing it with a Denali Rosewood so I would say the Stradic CI4. I think, asthetically, it would look pretty good together.
  10. I usually limit myself to 3-4 of each type when space is a concern (squarebill, medium 5-10, deep 10+, lipless, and jerkbaits.). I try to have a bright color (chartruese, orange), reflective color (silver, gold, aurora black), natural shad color (sexy shad, Tennessee shad), and brown sunfish type color (sexy sunfish, rootbeer, baby bream).
  11. Well, there's your answer from the two that should know.
  12. I plan on going the first week in April with a buddy, I've been a few times and although the ramps are crowded, theres never been a lack of fishing area. Boat traffic can get a little heavy but thats later in the summer like zip pow said. We normally fish North Sauty out of goosepond, out of waterfront, or down in Sebold. Any suggestion this time of year? Not to hijack but I think we both would benefit. <------That one came two years ago on the humps just outside of goosepond
  13. Sounds like a Chinese knock-off : ) Yes, the vengence is a good rod for the price.
  14. The Stick-Os are great stick baits. My favorite is the 6".
  15. "Call for deals too good to advertise". It's on the bottom of every one of their sale adds.
  16. I use a Daiwa Sol, a Shimano 50 should be ok
  17. I have a Browning bag that I bought a few years ago on sale at BPS for around $50, may be the same one A-Rob mentioned. They dont make it any more but I think it's similar to the BPS Extreme Qualifier 370 bags, holds plenty of stuff, I think it will hold 8 360 boxes plus it has large pockets for plastics.
  18. I'm from Johnson County but now live in Richmond.
  19. Guntersville is a great lake and would factor into my desicion but it sounds like the only plus of the move. If the lake is the only reason to consider the job I wouldn't.
  20. They're knock-offs.
  21. I'd say a size 50 Shimano. I have a Curado E and a Chrobarch, I love both of them.
  22. Gloomis CBR 843 bought it on eBay. That thing had the power and backbone of a foam pool noodle. Couldn't handle a LC RC 1.5 on it. Every Revo I have ever had, except the Toro. Thought I was going to like the older Premier, casted great until until the guy I was in the boat with sneezed and it blew up. Even with a light breeze it was uncontrollable, bought the reel a week before going to guntersville, sold it the weekend I got back.
  23. I see you fish Cedar Creek, fish there quit a bit from time to time. The main color I use is watermelon red but I also use junebug, watermelon magic, and plum apple in zoom baits, aarons magic from roboworm, and baby bass in a senko. I tend to stick with green baits for the most part.
