  1. I have a 7'M zillion rod and use 12lb fluorocarbon on it. I use it for smaller jigs, jerkbaits, and tubes. I don't like braid and would recommend 10-12lb CXX for copoly. My zillion rod destroys most of my MH rods in the power department. It's a beefy little stick, very small blank but it has the power get them in. There's nothing "wimpy" about the zillion line of rods at all.
  2. Is Chuck Woolery going to endorse it? I like how the site says it's the must-have lure of 2010...they've got 10 days to prove it. I'm sure it will catch fish, the motolure will too I won't be buying one though.
  3. I have contemplated getting a Vengence since they were released but never did. I personally feel they are the best looking rod that Abu has made, alot closer to tge JDM look that they were going for. I would also look at the Fenwick Eagle GT, they feel really nice and are lighter than the Vengence IIRC. I don't care too much for the shock buy the standard lightening rod is a good choice.
  4. If he was a good son, I think he would be getting a Daiwa Lol in all seriousness, your pretty lucky Curado's are awesome! I've only used em' a few times but i've already fell in love! But I thought "Shimano....is....ADDICTING" You should be happy with the Curado if you like your Citica...both are great reels.
  5. Tighten the drag star, push and hold it down and turn the handle backwards until it unscrews
  6. I've got one last thing coming for the year, a 7'H Kistler Helium II, hopefully the best $160 bucks I've spent in awhile.
  7. The wife just texted me and said mine arrived today. I'll post a pic when I get home She dropped it off to me at work. Somebody did some research...either that or great minds think alike ;D
  8. x2 I could use crankbait and jerkbait interchangeably Jig tube jerkbait/crankbait
  9. I usually use a 2/0 or 3/0 EWG on 4'' tubes like the BPS Tender Tube or Cabin Creek Critter Gitter, very thin walls and small profile, collapse easily with the smaller hook. For flipping tubes I usually go up to a 4/0.
  10. Vans and Airwalk for everyday wear, I have Saucony Excursions and Asics for work
  11. One thing to think about is placement in the room, if it's anywhere that will get a glare throughout the day, I'd stay away from plasma. My parents have a 42'' Plasma Visio that is a great TV, great picture and sound, it does get a little warm after extended viewing. They seem to be very good TVs for the money, the one you posted looks like a great deal. I have a 52" LCD Sony Bravia that we got last year at Best Buy during the pre black friday sales. Really like it, all of our mainroom equipment is Sony with the exception of the Wii.
  12. I've got two crankbaits and a popper, can't catch a tree limb with them, and I've tried. when others are producing, they just fall short. I think the battery has run down so maybe they'll start producing. They are a nice looking and running bait but I didn't get a bite, even on an active night...nothing
  13. I bought a few packs last week, haven't fished them though, the'll have to wait till spring. I have had a good amount of success on the fat ika and have really high hopes for the hydra. I have used other damiki softbaits and really like their plastic formula. Their spoon tail and finesse miki are really good baits for shakeyheads and dropshot.
  14. Some of my best producing techniques and baits, hope they work for you like they have for me. Merry Christmas.
  15. reminds me of an iPhone case I bought from Hong Kong that said "happy fun case made your protect to phones form dusties and screen that scratches"
  16. I don't know but it was a Verdict....I can read you know . The guy said he picked them up at a product show but this was before October. It was right after the Veritas came out and he had two, a 6'6''M and 7'M.
  17. They are great shallow cranks, they'll run through some thick stuff and deflect very well. I've bought many on sale at the $10 price but they are worth the $15 if you do alot of shalow cranking.
  18. My question to myself would be "do I want black or white/silver"
  19. I can't stand how they look, they're ugly, in color and style. Not sure how they fish, and probably will never know....and I'm OK with that.
  20. Just got home from getting called in to the hospital at 11, lying in bed with the dog and trying to warm up.
  21. The wide spool version was referenced due to line capacity, even though it is more, it's closer to the revo and zillion than the narrow spool.
  22. Really good reels, I have two and will be keeping at least one if I ever thin out the arsenal, maybe two. The dual braking comes in hand for quick adjustments to the mag brake. Alone each brakeing system is more than adequate. The weight is in no way something to worry about, they are 8.4 oz, that's .4oz less than a zillion and .5oz less than the Revo STX/SX and you don't hear many people complaining about them, well, maybe the zillion. The only thing I don't like about them is the screw on handle and that has since been changed. There have been a few for sale here for some great prices.
  23. Mine would be my tube/jerkbait rod, 7'M Daiwa Zillion/Daiwa Alphas 103/12 fluorocarbon. Probably one of the most versatile rods I own. I've fished everything with from 1/8oz to 3/8oz jigs, dropshot, tubes, jerkbaits, cranks, t and c-rigs.....
  24. I have two of the Zillion Rods, a 7'M and a 7'MH. I have never been concerned about the durability or quality of either rod. I have bent the butt of my 7'M by closing it in the car door but as far as actual blank quality, I have reeled in several large branches, logs, and a wooden palette with it without any trouble. I would hope that the warranty from daiwa is decent, never had to use it.
