  1. I'd say anything in a H would do. I have / have had a 704, 705, and 766 Powell and a SS704 Dobyns, any of these rods would be fine.
  2. The Zillion rods are a different league of rods, the closest to them are the Savvy and Powell...I think the price points are very accurate with these rods for comparisons.
  3. ever watch Stacy King fish a 7' rod....he makes them look like 8' flipping sticks ;D but honestly...what does it matter? I've never understood the fascination with knowing EVERYTHING about a tournament win...It isn't the rod, boat, line, reel, bait, or cereal bar that wins a tournement, it's the angler. I know the pro's may plug certain specifics and everyone goes into an uproar about it because they saw them using something different. I never saw Velvick even touch a Duckett rod on Clear lake during the Bassmasters "coverage" but it was credited for the win. I doesn't matter if Harry puts specially matched tires on the car and you pass on the outside....rubbins racing. ok...I'm done
  4. I fish a tube just about every time I go fishing. It's just one of those baits you can use to imitate anything. They are easy to rig and are very weedless and can be fished really anywhere. I like to texas rig them with the Lindy E-Z tube weights http://www.lindyfishingtackle.com/productdetail.aspx?id=eztubeweight I like the BPS tender tubes and Cabin Creek Critter Gitter tubes, they have a smaller, slimmer profile but get big bites Cabin Creek Tender Tube
  5. I would say Curado...the JM Sig is a pretty nice reel for the price if you are talking about the chrome one. I have a buddy that fishes them and old blue tours and wouldn't trade them for anything. He's fished Fuegos and Revos and still like the JM better.
  6. I use copoly for topwater without any kind of trouble. I usually use either CXX or Floroclear, both of which are FC coated but they still float.
  7. are those the blue ones with the counter weighted handle...like a saltwater alpha or something. I was watching one on ebay the other day but never bid on it
  8. Aarons due...big time...hope he can keep it up...should have went with my gut feeling on the fatasy site but oh well...you live, you learn. :-/
  9. I'd like to see Aaron Martens pull it out...he's always top of my list though. Im gonna say Klein, Kreit, or Ike...I think Swindle, Evers, and Hackney have fighting chances too. Not sure what happened during practice though...I could be way off.
  10. He'll give you some good advice on reaction strike and 4" hardbaits as well.
  11. I have a few 200s and a 50 and really like the 50. Mine feels like a much more tuned reel, it feels like it just meshes well. Having smaller hands, I find the profile very comfortable, I can actually get my fingers around it. I love how low the 200 is but it us wide, good spool access though. I actually got mine for less than a 200 usually goes for on eBay, $145, and couldn't be happier with it.
  12. got mine yesterday. There's a thread about this going on over in the general section but it got WAY off track
  13. the first cassette I bought on my own was Vanilla Ice To The Extreme, the first CD was Ace of Base The Sign
  14. Just saw they were $110 right now with $5 shipping....not bad for those rods.
  15. I bought my first setup last year, a Shimano Cardiff 300A and a 7'6"-8'MH Tackle Industries musky rod. I threw bucktails, topwater, bulldogs, and ledgebuster spinnerbaits on it. It a really good rod for around $100, less if you find one on eBay. I got reel for $80 and the rod for $100 so that a pretty good setup for under $200. http://www.tackleindustries.com/muskypikerods.html
  16. I DVR the Scott Martin Challenge, City Limits, Bass Pros, and Jimmy Houston. I wish I had the Outdoor Channel so I counld watch Zona's show and Ultimate Match Fishing. I watched the new Charlie Moore show the other day, what a waste of money and programming space
  17. I haven't used the outlaw rods but if it's the $150-$200 price point you're looking at, I'd second the Pinnacle Perfecta recommendation. Easily one of the best rods I've fished in the price point.
  18. I'd stick with the lightening rods...either the standard or the shock.
  19. you can get a roland martin dvd and I think a shaw grigsby dvd as well
  20. wait...I think I know the solution....on the home screen find the link in one of the paragraphs that says forums. the navigation buttons don't work on some browsers....my work computer included this paragraph
  21. Works fine on my AT&T iPhone, never had any trouble with the exception of when they were banned from a few different states....long story but fixed now
