  1. I too have a good numer of BPS rods and enjoy them quiet well... 6'6'' M Pro Qualifier 6'6'' M Crankin Stick 7' MH Bionic Blade 7' M Tourney Special 7' MH Extreme (Spining)
  2. The Extreme/President combo is how I got my president and can say that this is a great combo...Gave the original 6'6'' MH extreme that I got to my dad but replaced it with a 7' MH extreme that I bought here from the flea market
  3. Really the only crankin rods you need IMO...a great price for a great rod How old are your rods...I have an 07 6'6'' M but hear the older models are much heavier
  4. He was my top pick for Guntersville on the FLW fantasy fishing...don't know why....had a hunch
  5. Have mostly gammies but I'm not brand loyal...they are the best at my walmart
  6. Never had any luck in a lake with them but the fish in my creek killed the small ones. They have a wide wobble when retrieved steadily, can be waked, yo-yoed...not bad when on sale IMOO
  7. Yeah I thought about that too the only thing I could think of to why he said that is if maybe he saw matts hard bluegill the wake version with the bill and once saw the bill just immediately thought crank. Even though its a swimbait and just got confused? Haha thats the only reason i could think of. I think the train of thought was 1. Those mattlures bluegills look like real bluegills 2. That's an awful lot to pay for a single bait 3. Crankbaits are less expensive than swimbaits 4. I wonder who makes the best bluegill crankbait 5. I think I'll ask the readers of bass resource their opinions are based on hard facts and evidence without any predisposition or judgments.
  8. For the reel i would recommend a Pflueger President. It would give you some money left over to add to the rod
  9. If you need to use it then use it but if it's an extra just place it aside
  10. You won't find much better than the Pflueger President...hands down
  11. Rapala does make a nice bluegill crank...I also like the Mann's bluegill color
  12. Tubes have been a big producer for me for LM, especially when the bite is slow
  13. Nov. 17, 2007 on a weightless t-rigged 5'' smoke shad Wave Tiki Stick not as big as every one elses but my biggest to date
  14. I would definitely recommend a Pflueger President for a spinning reel...IMO the best in it's price range and many more expensive price ranges... simmonssportinggoods is a good store on ebay....great customer service and reliable products
  15. The size is one of the selling points for me....around here in KY it's a good day with 3 fish over the size limit....and some lakes are almost impossible to catch fish that size consistently. These baits are small which makes them better suited for my local waters.
  16. Both baits are entirely different....The Mann's snake is not a floater like the the bass professor's snake is...it's basically a larger flat bodied worm with a big head that requires a steady retrieve to stay on top just like a soft plastic frog...Doug Hannon's snake, however seems to float and coil on top of the water with rod twitches
  17. Been playing for around 8 yrs or so....have a Mexican Fender Strat and an LTD 5-string bass
  18. In honor of upcoming Valentines day, what are your favorite chick flix or any other movies you aren't really proud of? mine are A Walk to Remember The Notebook Brokeback Mountain Finding Nemo
  19. I have a Quantum Incyte IT20 but am in the process of looking for a good rod
  20. I know the Mitchell Copperhead has a trigger and used to cost around 20....not sure if they still make them but I too think it would be best to teach them how to properly cast and close the bail without a trigger....I would suggest a Mitchell Advocet or an Abu Garcia Cardinal
  21. I have never fished with an STX but have fished an SX and the brakes on it are picky....not sure about the STX though....but I do have 2 Pflueger Patriarchs and would say they are the way to go....with the dual braking system you can set the centrifugal brake and then use the magnetic to fine tune....as of now I have had only one backlash and that was due to a break off on the cast. For the most part I don't need to thumb my casts and rarely use the magnetic brake. The revos have a smoother retrieve but the Patriarch is much easier to cast
