  1. I need to get some advice on the best day to fish. I'm in the midwest (Chicago area) & fish Lake Geneva Wisc. For the past 2 days we have been getting weather in the high 80's and it is suppose to last through Tuesday. Now starting Weds, the temp is suppose to drop about 15 to 20 degrees and Thurs. another drop of 10 degrees. Let's say you can fish either day, which day do you think would be the best to fish? I never can remember if the 1st day or the 2nd day of cold fronts turns the fish bite off and you're just waisting your time fishing. Any ideas?
  2. Bdomina - I don't think you want to mess with your crankbait by adding weight to it. Take a floating Rapala stick bait, they usually dive no more than 5'-7' and are designed to surface a particular way. If you mess around with twitching it (whether on surface or below), you'll get more strikes.
  3. For Chris & Roadwarrior: thanks for the info but let me ask you this. So you think the fish have slowed due to pleasure boaters but you still you don't want to fish live bait, which direction would you try most....plastics or cranks? Thanks for the help.
  4. I fish Lake Delavan in southern Wisconsin for bass and it has been very slow the past few weeks. I only throw cranks and plastics while noticing that about 90 % of the other boats I notice, use live bait (suckers and chubs). I think it has been so slow because of all of the pleasure boats & hope it picks up now after Labor Day. My question is: Do you think bass can be conditioned in a lake to only hit live bait since that is mostly what is thrown at them? And do you think it's a waist of time if I refuse to switch to live bait to keep fishing this lake? Thanks for the info...Irishrover.
  5. I use Norman quick clips. A while back I emailed Roland Martin asking if using a quick clip hurt the action of the lure. Martin emailed back saying he has used quick clips in the past and he didn't think it changed the action of the lure. I have been using quick clips for years. My only question is line twists. I've found that I do get some line twists depending on what lure I use.
  6. What lake is it in Wisconsin?
  7. I throw Spro DD Crank25 crankbaits, usually bluegill, baby bass & perch when nothing else is working.
  8. Baitcasters: Curado Spincasting: Stradic
  9. Just wondering what you all thought....I've been using 5" Senkos for largemouth & smallmouth and having some success. I will always insert a rattle into the bottom to attract the bass with noise. When I fished a few days ago I decided that maybe the inserted rattle was altering the way a Senko moves through the water. So I went without the rattle and about 20 minutes later, I caught a 4-5lb bass. I'd like to know others ideas on if they think adding a rattle to a Senko alters the way it was designed to move.
  10. I had the same problem with my Eagle. It was just time to replace it. I got 5 yrs out of it.
