  1. You guys are all awesome. Thanks for your input!!!
  2. When would be the best time to catch the low water condition in the Everglades?

  5. I am wanting to take my older cousin (81 yrs) on a bass fishing trip in spring. Which lake would you recommend for a numbers lake also a good Smallmouth lake? I have a boat and am an experienced angler just looking to provide a good trip for him. We are in S.E. MO and willing to drive for a good lake? Thanks... Kevin
  6. I hope to fish Guntersville and Ky. Lake this spring. I have never fished either one and looking for advice for good guides. Thanks
  7. I found the BPS 100MPH suit to be the best...expensive but the best. Frog Toggs also have a premium suit that is a bit lighter weight but a great buy. I have one and like it as well as my 100MPH suit, even better in warmer weather
  8. Be happy to help -- just let me know.
  9. Just got back form Lake Falcon. Fished mostly the Mexican side. I never felt in any danger and we whacked the bass. It is the most awesome Bass Lake I have ever been on. When you get to the point that a 5 or 6 pounder is just another bass you know you are into something special. We did not get our DD bass but some in the 9s. If you get a chance to go --- you will not regret it. Caught most of the big girls on a Magnum Watermelon Red Flake Fluke on a Carolina Rig on rocky points and rocky humps.
  10. I am not aware of any sidescan units without downscan. Money is always a factor so I purchased a 5" Lowrance HDS with the side/downscan technology last year and a 10" HDS unit this year. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!!!! There are some really good deals on used equipment as the Generation II Lowrance is available, guys are upgrading and selling their Generatio I units. The main dfference is processor speed and memory. I have found the Generation I to be more than I need. Try to find someone with the sidescan and take some time on the lake with it. If you will be at Lake Fork anytime just let me know and I will be happy to spend some lake time to fish and let you see how it works. Good Luck
  11. PILOT ERROR!!!!! As the Southwest Airlines Cptain said when he landed fast and long in Burbank, CA and ended up at a gas station off the aiport "well, there goes my career." It does NOT matter what the water level was or if certain lights were working, as captain you have to know what is safe and correct, that is part of the job of being captain. As an airline captain -- we would be flipping burgers after that screw up. Lucky for him no one was killed or he could face manslaughter charges. As Homer Simpson would say --- DOH!!!
  12. I have been on Fork for many years and have been there most of the winter. I find it MUCH easier getting around now with the low water than at full pool. Now it is easy to see where the obstacles are. Yes there are some hazards near the boat lanes but most all are clearly marked. Tournaments can be frustrating with all the idling but for fun fishing it has not been a problem for me. The big girls are moving up. We caught 2 overs on the creek channel next to the spawning flats. They seem to be working in the 8 to 12 foot range with the next 60 days being the best fishing of the year for the fat girls.
  13. hmmmm, guess I am the only one that loves my HDS units. yes, I did have a gps issue, sent it back for service AFTER the warranty had expired ---- they sent me a BRAND NEW UNIT and I did NOT even have to pay shipping. It does not get any better than that.
