Roboworm Rebarb, Hooks, Owner Mosquito Hooks, Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hooks, Owner Twistlock Hooks, and Gamakatsu Heavy Cover Flippin' Hooks. Depends on the thickness of the worm and the cover I'm fishing.
It's better to buy a few quality pieces of equipment one at a time than to buy a bunch of lower quality gear all at once. This holds true for rods, reels, lures and terminal tackle.
Bought my 2 brand new for $80 apiece and you can still find them for close to that. So I wouldn't eve consider an E series Citica unless it was $90 or less.
Just ordered a Cumara 7'4" jig rod and I need a reel to match with it. My price range for the reel is anywhere from $150 to $275 new or used. It is gonna be my dedicated jig rod for footballs 1/2oz on up. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Let the fish hook himself and then give the rod a nice sweep when you feel the weight. Not a home run swing just a enough to make sure the hooks have a good set in the fish.
Rapala DT series, easy on the budget specified for certain depths, they run true and come in a wide variety of colors. I'm just not sold on the Sureset hooks. Gonna switch em all out for regular trebles.
I use the 4inch shad colored, either jigging or a straight swimming retrieve around rip rap and cover. You will lose a few but it's worth the catching.
