  4. I bought the bulk spool from the Longfin. I think it was 20 dollars shipped.
  5. I have 3 , a ML, a M and MH. Two 7' and 7'-2". I love to crankbait fish. They all have their uses. You can probably get away with 2 rods.
  6. And so it begins.
  7. It was a very nice suprise. Found me a fishing buddy and a forum member all at once. It was a good day and a nice fish too.
  8. I split shot my Trick Worm nose hooked with a size 2 Owner Mosquito Hook using a Shimano 7'-2" dropshot rod Stradic 2500I and 8lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultrasoft. i usually get bites on the initial fall.
  9. Roboworm Rebarb, Hooks, Owner Mosquito Hooks, Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hooks, Owner Twistlock Hooks, and Gamakatsu Heavy Cover Flippin' Hooks. Depends on the thickness of the worm and the cover I'm fishing.
  10. Used to use nothing but the improved clinch till I learned the Palomar now it's just about the only thing I use.
  11. It's better to buy a few quality pieces of equipment one at a time than to buy a bunch of lower quality gear all at once. This holds true for rods, reels, lures and terminal tackle.
  12. Less bearings than the TE series and pricier. I love the Calcutta's but I'm not so sure about these new ones.
  13. They did away with the size 2500 model on two of those new reels also. What were they thinking?
  14. Bought my 2 brand new for $80 apiece and you can still find them for close to that. So I wouldn't eve consider an E series Citica unless it was $90 or less.
  15. I was looking at a Chronarch D7 or a Core 100. Any thoughts on those 2?
  16. Just ordered a Cumara 7'4" jig rod and I need a reel to match with it. My price range for the reel is anywhere from $150 to $275 new or used. It is gonna be my dedicated jig rod for footballs 1/2oz on up. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  17. The DT series for sure are fish catchers.
  18. Thanks for that post Catt. It pretty much summed it up. Predators follow the prey, and if we wanna catch the predator follow the prey.
  19. I have three packs of those but haven't used em yet. How well do they work and whats the best way to fish em?
  20. Rapala DT-6 in bluegill
  21. Let the fish hook himself and then give the rod a nice sweep when you feel the weight. Not a home run swing just a enough to make sure the hooks have a good set in the fish.
  22. Rapala DT series, easy on the budget specified for certain depths, they run true and come in a wide variety of colors. I'm just not sold on the Sureset hooks. Gonna switch em all out for regular trebles.
  23. I use the 4inch shad colored, either jigging or a straight swimming retrieve around rip rap and cover. You will lose a few but it's worth the catching.
