  1. I want to bend nature to my will by fooling the wily largemouth bass with a variety of techniques and tackle. That and the fact I want other fishermen to *** my skill and catch.
  2. Because they work and last forever. http://m.flickr.com/photos/10418967@N05/13245322373/
  3. Thinking of adding 2 more members to the family.
  4. My humble collection. http://www.flickr.com/photos/10418967@N05/13245322373/
  5. I like BPS house brand mono also for the price and quality.
  6. It ain't about the price of the combo, it's the joy you get of fishing it, owning it, playing with it during cabin fever season and playing with it some more.
  7. I salute you sir and hope you have as much fun fishing them as you did taking them outta the box.
  8. Used Shimano Stradic and Crucial/Compre combo.
  9. So what exactly is the "problem"?
  10. Don't split up into 2 combos. Buy one quality setup at a time. It will save you the money of hassle of trading up later. Trust me on that point, I made that mistake with my first couple of combos.
  11. I have 2 of the Shimano 7'-2" cork handled Crucials and I love them. They handle well and they load up good. I haven't done any deep cranking with them but they've worked well for me.
  12. As fish get conditioned to it, the Alabama Rig will become just another tool in a skilled angler's tool bag. I say keep the Alabama Rig as a legal tool and let the chips fall where they may. I think a lot of the griping comes from anglers with a vested interest in selling tackle (i.e. Sponsored Anglers). You can't sell 25 iterations of the A-rig like you can with crankbaits, plastics, Jerkbaits or so on.
  13. It's worth whatever the market will bear. It's the difference between freedom and communism.
  14. The placement of the bearings in a reel has more to do with quality than the amount of bearings.
  15. Bass Pro honored my warranty without a question and even let me pick a different model when they didn't have my exact rod on hand. The Shimano over the counter is one of the most hassle free warranties around.
  16. Compre and the Mojo's get my vote.
  17. I now feel inadequate about how I store my tackle.
  18. That right there is called optimism and dedication. I wished I believed in myself and the lakes I fished to throw something like that.
  19. Have a game plan Fish bodies of water that are known to hold quality fish Fish thoroughly
  20. If it had to be one lure and one lure only it's gotta be a jig.
  21. Jerkbaits over the flats and jigs near any drop offs and structure. Might fling some lipless crank sits all over the place.
  22. Time to send it in for warranty work and buy a new one while the old one is out for warranty work.
  23. Rockchalk the Calcuttas are going away this winter for some cleaning and tuning, I'm not getting rid of them. I still have that Falcon Bag waiting for you too.
