  4. Anyone ever been to sliver lake in hollywood, fl. i am fishing there oin my days off this week, just found it. Its like a nature walk park. Two pretty big lakes and deep even on the shore lines...must be 5-8 feet in some spots. But definately man made.....crystal clear water. Kinda greenish color, never fished in water like this before. Very hot down here too. low 90's. Any ideas on what to fish over here? i am heading to bass bro later to pick up a couple of new lures.... thanks guys
  5. ok cool thanks...just curious....sorry bout that
  6. what is this why did i get moved?
  7. thanks you guys. I just need some new advice...i used to do real well olut here...even in the glades i used to go an catch a bunch. i took sometime off and now i am lucky if i catch one every month or so lol. its not that bad but sometimes it feels like it. last two weeks i had huge strikes on top of the water with the flukes....but i use braided line and i was useing the old style fisheres mens knot....and every strike would slip the line. Know i was shown the palomor knot...it feels so much stronger and it wont slip.....but all i have caught since this knot was a small one. pound tops. But i just wanted to say thanks again for the replies.
  8. Ok i just read a couple of old articles in here....and i saw guys giving tips to someone about line watching....now i thought i only needed to line watch in like deep sea fishing. I might be missing out on some catches then. Usaslly when i feel a hit i know it...little tug...then i set and the line starts running. Anyways must sound stupid but i just curious. thanks. Two other questions are about technique. One is with flukes. I use them alot no weight, and i fish canals alot....cast to the other side onto grass...pull it slowly off the bank...and let it sit....i twitch two or 3 times....sit do that one more time...and bring it all the way in. does that sound right? Last question is rat-l-traps....i hear some many good things about them......i have two....i have never caught a thing on either one....maybe one or two peacocks but never largemouths. How fast should i retrieve them.....and should i twitch? I fish i dark water....a lot of bass, snook, and some tarpoon. THANKS i am just dying for new advice.
  9. peacocks are everyhere in south florida. Just have to find a lake really. And fishing them from shore....they hit everything especailly when you see them in the shallows...i guess they are spawing?....but you throw anything close to them they will attack it with huge hits......even the small ones could snap your line if you arent careful. i have better luck with peacocks then i do with largemouth. But then again im an amatuer at this so
  10. very cool thanks for your help. But two more question ......what color toads and flukes you were using....i use watermelon seed and baby bass flukes. Horny toads.....i have used but not too much. And markham park did you go into to the park to fish.......or just down the side of 84.? Thanks for your help!
  11. Whats up everyone, is there anyone fimilar with these waters out in davie, plantation, and/or coopercity areas. Im looking for a new lake/spot for a change. I fish the canal behind my house...i believe it connects to orange drive cannals and 84 canals. i have a alot of large bass in there, also a bunch of snook, and tarpoon at times. But i have been having horrible luck lately. Its dark mercky water. I switch off using 7.5-8 " charlies/ culprit red chad worms (during the day) and in the morning or dusk i am most using flukes. i am on land so no boat...and using crank baits are hard out here because of the shore lines. Any help for fishing my canal....or any new spot out here are well appriciated. thanks
