  1. Guidewear is good stuff Oregon native, and nothing like being warm and dry when it’s cold and rainy. I’ve had mine Guidewear for over 10 years and seasonally spray it with a water repellent treatment. Some good shoes to keep your feet warm and dry and you’re set. Good luck out there, JB
  2. I was in the same boat, with the same problem turkey sandwich, which is frustrating. I use an iPad, and got some help from my daughters boyfriend in solving this problem. He suggested I email the photo I want to post to myself, I can resize it prior to sending the email. I can the save the photo from that email without using another medium or outside host. I haven’t had any issues to this point. Hope this helps you and other members, JB
  3. Congrats to the Astros on their first title! And Sports Illustrated for their 2014 prediction. It was fun to watch
  4. My daughters took me to a game a couple years ago for my birthday. For some reason, the tickets were hard to come by and we ended up behind one of the baskets. As with most arenas, there probably isn’t a bad seat in the house watching the game being played at a high level. But IMO, always get the best seats you can afford. The one thing I wished the three of us had the night of the game but didn’t, earplugs.... Hope you have a great time and the Pacers play well.
  5. ^ as stated above (Sorry guys, used up all my likes on another topic) you’re on the right track Sifuedition regarding yellow braid. I have 20lb yellow PowerPro on my senko rod and 40lb yellow on a couple of t-rig rods, using an Alberto knot to connect a flouro leader. I went with the heavier braid due to the heavier pound test flourocarbon leader. Due to the conditions when steelhead fishing in the Pacific Northwest, guys use fluorescent green or chartreuse Izor line for the same purpose. Good fishing, JB
  6. All you've got to do is google “Obscure laws in (enter name of state)” to find out that no state is immune to what now might be considered questionable reasoning for the law that was enacted. Kind of fun and good for a laugh...
  7. Looks like a very clean factory job! Congratulations lo n slo on a job well done
  8. Thanks BASS302 and WRB, for filling in some of the blanks as I don’t get down to the South bay much any more. I’ve got that affliction where I see a stream, river, lake, or coastline and start to think what fish are there and where and how I’d fish it. Those ponds always looked inviting, with easy access and what appears to be an area to walk the shore with a couple of rods and minimal tackle. Continued good fishing, JB
  9. Today, I just wanted to say, “Happy Birthday” to my family and friends. And I’d like to say on this Veterans Day to all the Bass Resource vets and those vets around the world, a heartfelt “Thank you for your service”. R.I.P. Pops and Semper Fidelis, I think you’d like where I have these displayed... And to my family, my brothers and sisters in blue, be safe.
  10. Thanks BASS302 for this, it might bring some clarity to my earlier post. Good fish all, JB
  11. Oscarreds, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums and congratulations on your move the San Jose. I know there are some ponds that can be seen traveling S/B on Hwy 17 towards Saratoga. I’ve never fished there but they do look inviting and might be worth a try. Maybe some of the South Bay members can fill in the blanks on these ponds. Also Lexington might be worth a try. Not sure how far you’re willing to drive, but there are good places to fish within an hours drive from San Jose. I’d also suggest checking into one of the local bass clubs as a way expanding your fishing opportunities and abilities, which will lead to lasting relationship with the bait monkey. I hope this was helpful and by the way, the Delta is in a fall pattern... Good luck and good fishing, JB
  12. I’d call him “Spike”.
  13. Looking good! And as meticulous as you have been so far judging by the pictures and the narrative, I’ll speak for all of us and say can’t wait to see things progress, not to mention the finished product! Continued success with this project, JB
  14. Well done Logan, and like you said a check is always a good thing! And that would happen to be a Mann’s Hank Parker “Classic” on the deck would it ?...
  15. This is probably my favorite fishing photo. It’s of my oldest daughter with her limit of salmon, her grandfather (my dad), and me after our salmon fishing trip to the Farallon Islands, which are located about 26 miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge. Our first salmon trip together was when my daughter was 10 years old and she also caught her limit. I am glad for the memories of this day as two weeks after this photo was taken my dad died of leukemia.
  16. Otters? I’d gladly swap you the sea lions that inhabit the California Delta and feed on bass and other fish species year round. The otters out here feed HEAVILY on crawdads, which is pretty evident by the scat left on docks. But hey, I guess we should be happy there’s still fish to catch. Continued good fishing all, JB
  17. I can’t comment on the KC-OAK game other than I was surprised da Raida’s won. Now, for my team the Niners, any mention of them in this thread should be under the title “Road to the 2018 NFL number one pick”....
  18. Kosta, striper fishermen use live bluegill for bait in the Delta all the time as they are known as a big fish bait. This time of year, some of stripper fishermen usually start off catching bluegill on flats using red worms. Then they'll move off into the deep channels and drift fish the bluegills for the big stripers. I've even found wire fish baskets full of bluegills tied off to the tules while bass fishing, which I assumed was either stashed striper bait or a fish fry in the making. Good luck on your trip to the Delta, JB
  19. Luis, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums. Hope you had a good trip to SoCal and we're able to get on some fish. If you're ever up in NorCal and the Bay Area and would want to fish the California Delta, let me know. Continued good fishing, JB
  20. I went out the other morning trying to get back on a top water bite. After not getting bit on the plopper and a buzz bait, I decided to pick up the pompadour and see what happened. On my third cast, I got my first pompadour fish when this guy crushed it like he was a fish twice his size. Cut him loose, and picked up the senko and threw it in the same general area and felt that familiar tick. I set the hook and battled this chunk to the boat...
  21. So boudroux, care to comment on how the fishing was for you and your boys. Folsom has been tough for me, but I've been doing well on the Delta throwing topwater the past few weeks and I'd like to think you had the same experience. At the very least. I hope you had a safe and enjoyable trip.
  22. And Good Morning from the left coast MassBassin! Pretty sure the fishing is gonna get better. I've been chucking the 110 as I finally broke down and bought one. Haven't thrown the 130 much since. If you're working the 110, I think you'll be impressed with how the design improvements have helped. Looking forward to hearing some good news and seeing a picture or two!
