  1. Fish on LMB, as TnRiver46 mentioned, I’d have to agreed this time of year 20-30 foot range along bluff walls and points might be the place to start. And the dam was always very good in the late afternoon. I know a jig, especially spider jigs work well there for bigger bites. I haven’t been there in a while, but the fishing can be very good. Good lucking let us know how you did, JB
  2. I don’t know why you couldn’t do both, that’s what I’d do. The game doesn’t start ‘til shortly after 1500 PST (please adjust to your local time zone), so you can go have a day on the water. The best part is missing all the pregame talking heads and be back for food and football. Weather in my neck do the woods is supposed to be in the 70’s (So Cal was upper 80’s yesterday) this weekend so things are looking good...
  3. They do hit do hit lures FC2, but can pretty much strip bait off the hook seemingly before it hits bottom. This little striper was my first fish of 2018, and man was I hoping it was a green fish after it initial strike...
  4. Nice! Definitely a great day of FISHING!
  5. Wow, I had to think ?......California is the only state I fished last year. However, it sure is nice to vicariously enjoy the great fishing in other states thanks to everyone’s posts.
  6. Congratulations on your retirement Superflex72 and welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums!
  7. Sorry for your loss Lonnie, prayers for you and your family.
  8. Den of Thieves, The Post
  9. Congratulations on your well earned retirement!
  10. Sadly friends, I have to admit I didn’t catch enough of ‘em or too many.... I never will
  11. X2- nothing but good luck to you and the West Virginia team! BTW, our rising star made it on slide #16 and #18...
  12. I’m already there Mike, I get fish the Delta all year long! Lake Okeechobee is my other pick cause it’s the only other place that fits the criteria.
  13. Thanks for the recommendations Preytorien, I’ll check them out. Thanks Junger, I appreciate your help. Right now I’ve been using Revant Optics replacement lenses for my Oakley’s and find them to be very good. But then again, it never hurts to look at a better option if one is available.
  14. I’ve been contemplating buy Costas or Maui Jim’s for a while and appreciate your input. Any suggestions on lenses, especially with regards to shallow water sight fishing. Thanks, JB
  15. For a second I had a Brylcreem flashback! Staying on topic....Original
  16. If I don’t feel hooking up the boat and going fishing... I turn to what y’all do as well, Bass Resource, Western Bass, Tackle Warehouse, DVR’d fishing shows or videos. Then I’ll go retry some gear for my next fishing trip. And yes, I do feel blessed I can fish year round.
  17. Must be a typo.... A few years ago I would have thought it was 16 in white numerals on a red jersey. But after watching Brady this past Saturday, IMO a win in Super Bowl LII will cement him as the GOAT quarterback. After Philadelphia dominated Minnesota on both sides of the ball it should be a good game.
  18. Thanks Clayton for the report on the great day you and your buddy had considering the conditions! I enjoyed the narrative and the photos of those big girls. 2018 is starting off really well
  19. My best one was this 8lber on blades.
  20. Hello James67, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums! I got motivated to go out the other day and to my surprise I could hear FROGS barking along the bank. The water temperature was 50.6 on my graph, and it was foggy with some light rain. Granted, they weren’t bullfrogs, but they were frogs nonetheless. I didn’t have a frog rod on the boat and kept throwing reaction baits trying to get bit that way. So James, if you want to throw something up on top IMO a frog, a big wake bait, buzz bait, or a whopper plopper. I’m guessing down in your neck of the woods the pre-spawn isn’t too far off and the aforementioned baits could get you that big bite you’re (we’re all) looking for.
  21. Sorry for your loss Tom
  22. tntbaitco.com is the site GoneFishingLTN if you like to check it out. As mentioned by Tom above, TNT’s Wadda jig is an Arkie style head, however the “M80” jig they make is a football style head. Ish could be using a commercially tied jig, an experimental or custom tied jig. Cooch loved TNT jigs, maybe there was some collaboration with Ish, we might never know. We are left to speculate and maybe find some cool stuff that might fill the intended need. Props to @tje0705, I appreciated what you posted above. And MassBassin508, thanks for expanding my knowledge regarding lead free Lunkah Huntah jigs. When I looked the up I was expecting to find them next to the sneekahs ?. Continued good fishing all, JB
  23. Hello Daniel, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums. In answer to your question, I think your first bullet point Takes, kills or possesses, while in the act of fishing, a trout or salmon from any PA or boundary waters, provides the answer, with “while in the act of fishing” being the key, all encompassing phrase. I don’t what the cost of the trout stamp is in PA, here in Cali it is a salmon/steelhead punch card. As an outdoorsman, you have to be a steward of the resource, and over the course of a year the cost of that stamp has to be less than a couple of pennies a day.
  24. Nice picture of a truly beautiful fish. It must have been one fun, intense battle. There’s definitely no doubt that water holds good fish and we all look forward to seeing what else you pull from it in the next few months.
