Fishing from the bank… a Plano tackle box. Right next to my ice chest, lounge chair and beach umbrella ?

My current truck has em, they automatically extend out when the door is open and is a nice feature to have getting in and out of the truck.

@Catt, I did have a Mitsubishi 35” TV when they first came on the market way back when. I’d seriously look at Honda or Toyota. Dependable, good gas mileage and probably built here in the US.

Since you’re just as aware there’s a front and back deck as I am, I’ll guess you also know “taking a hook to the back of the head” is usually attributed to not being aware of your backcast. But hey, it’s your boat, you fish how you want. I was just providing an option which I have successfully practiced as recently as a couple days ago. If it works for someone great, if not it’s part of the process to find a solution

I don’t know @Bird, but I’m gonna guess that one of you is fishing from the bow, the other from the back deck. Kinda like you’ve got your spot and casting area and I’ve got mine which if you aren’t in a tournament this can lead to some problems amongst friends. If both of you are fishing from the bow, both anglers can employ various techniques, be aware of each other’s casts and discuss what’s happening as they thoroughly work the spot before moving on to the next.

Ah, not a chance on only throwing crank baits all year long…might knock the dust off my golf clubs and even start watching it on tv

I headed up to Clear Lake to fish with Zach of Live Fast Movement Outdoors Guide Service and sample some late winter/early spring bass fishing. After a pre-dawn ride with air temperatures in the high 30’s we landed on our first spot. It didn’t take but a couple of casts to boat my first my first chunky pre spawn male of the morning. The morning’s bite window was consistent for solid fish as they put on the feed bag for the upcoming spawn. It was an enjoyable trip and I am definitely looking forward to the next one…

To be a complete fisherman only takes one rod and reel or a cane pole. For a man to fish completely, possibly many rods and reels…

True dat @Deleted account! And yes, as soon as I could I installed a Perko switch and upgraded to an AGM battery on the big motor/electronics side of things. At the time my solution was to pull one of the trolling motor batteries and hook it up to the starting battery cables to fire up the big motor. I believe my new boat is a little better equipped ?. It’s always better to learn from one’s mistakes then to repeat them

I used to float tube in the Delta using the tides to help me cover water. I would throw a Carolina rig on the outside of grass edges as I drifted with the tide. A Texas rigged stickbait or fluke might be another option and possibly more versatile than a jerkbait depending if there’s grass or not

I’ll put both bow and console units in standby (sleep) mode when not using ‘em. There’s nothing quite like the fun and excitement that takes place after running your graphs all day with the livewell pumps on high due to a livewell full of fish because you didn’t leave that bank cause it kept reloading and weigh-in is in 20 minutes and you hit the start button and…..nothing

I got out on the water for a few hours with air temperatures trying to hit 80 degrees, water temps 55 to 58 and change. Judging by the leathery condition of its tail, this 3.6lb chatterbait fish is getting ready to repeat the spring cycle once more.

For me it’s pretty disappointing regarding spring training and the start of regular season. And the usual culprit driving the current situation….$

I did a little mental wrestling with this one @DougHall_NY since you started this thread. Every BR member has fishing experiences coupled with local techniques and waters that would be enjoyable to me. That’s why I’m a member of Bass Resource and I appreciate it daily. Here’s a photo of my second bass of 2022 cause I didn’t get a picture of the first of the year. A sea lion was eating a bass about 75 feet down the channel from the boat so I knew I was around fish when this bass hit my bladed jig…

My first bass of the year came on the second cast to start the morning. When that happened I incorrectly figured they’re on a better bite. So because the bites were few and far in between, I did take a picture of my second bass of the day and 2022 which inhaled a bladed jig. It’s just gonna get better next time…

Interesting story @BassNJake, I’m sure they’d enjoy a few of these. Here’s a little more history regarding that how that ale was named. The brewery is located across the Mare Island Naval Shipyard dry docks on the Napa River where various types of ships and submarines were built or overhauled over the years
