  1. I’m with you Paul, doesn’t matter if they’re called turnpikes or toll roads big money is collected Hence the term “freeway” here in California, but that’s also subject to change. Californians are charged around $1.18 a gallon in taxes and fees with the majority of the money going to road maintenance. Traffic is traffic no matter where you are, the more lanes that are added the more cars that fill em.
  2. It’s been said the Japanese will make the reels a little better in regards to material or features for their domestic customers as opposed to what they release to the rest of the world.
  3. In response to @slonezp and @Choporoz California is proposing to end our “Freeway” system and look into charging by the mile in 2035, which will coincide with the State ending the sale of new internal combustion engine vehicles. *without getting too in-depth our high occupancy lanes (car pool) have evolved into EV and now toll lanes with a “Fast Trak” electronic pass. The “Fast Trak” pass also is how bridge tolls are collected in the northern part of the state.
  4. Thank you @.ghoti. for your thoughts and contributions which are going to be greatly missed as they made the Bass Resource community better. Just as the thought of your explanation of how you spelled “fish” brings a smile every time I would read a post of yours. Rest in peace Gary.
  5. I just call it dropshoting and it’s very effective on my water. As for bobber fish you really need to try shiner fishing on Okeechobee.
  6. @A-JayDue to the time difference I was expecting to see you standing next to your new ride when I opened the notification 😂. Gotta imagine you’re definitely chomping at the bit for its arrival! Two weeks?!
  7. Cmon man, the anticipation is getting crazy!
  8. Throw the dropshot @gimruis at targets. Some know this technique by another name, “bubba shot”.
  9. The Hook Up Tackle has extended their Veterans Day sale of sitewide 20% off until midnight tonight at 1159 MST.
  10. Sorry to hear that @gimruis, a frog, buzzbait, popper, walking bait and the much loved plopper all are too much fun to not throw.
  11. @RHuff the only thing missing in your stated lineup was a topwater offering and maybe a bladed jig. I personally start with the same setups you mentioned and expand from there during the calendar year. In my case due to where I live and being able to fish year round I adjust as weather, conditions and what I believe the fish are doing. My goal is to have one rod in my hand at the end of the day fishing one technique.
  12. The Boca oil is similar to the oil in the Shimano box @ghost, at least in my mind cause that’s what I’ve been using on my reels for a while now.
  13. Treebeard?
  14. Took a trip guided trip up to Clear Lake three months in the making only to run into some really tough conditions with those Florida stain bass having locked jaw. A couple days later I got out on the delta trying to make amends. Water temps in the low 60’s, an incoming tide I wanted to see if there was still a punch bite and throw some jerkbaits. Pulled up on a mat that had a couple of egrets working a little ways down the slough. A couple of pitches later I put a healthy green fish in the boat. Then a couple of state boat roll in directly across the slough from me and begin spraying the mats filling the air with the smell of herbicides. That’s when I bailed on this spot and went to find some jerkbait fish. And I did find some willing fish to complete a nice fall day on the water.
  15. Ya know it’s really a high tide when you can look over the levee and see what’s on the other side. In this case corn fields and farmland as far as my eyes could see….
  16. Man, I’ve barely got over 13k on my 2020 GMC’s stock Continentals 😂.
  17. @slonezp they’re a native species out west.
  18. I caught this sea turtle blowing snot bubbles at low tide.
  19. Safe travels @ATA and FYI salmon season is closed this year due to the state determining a poor return after two years of drought.
  20. Congratulations @Darnold335 on the sweet river running machine!
  21. I believe you’re right on point @throttleplate regarding the turf during last year’s Super Bowl, but it didn’t affect the outcome as both teams had to deal with it. Niners picked up Chase Young today, hopefully his addition will help the defensive line pressure the opposing QB which was lacking the past three games.
  22. And UNLV plays on the artificial turf and the pro football team plays on grass
  23. I think most of us are still here @throttleplate. I just can’t stop shaking my head over my teams three-game losing streak, and how the Niners are going to fix things on a bye week. Rodgers, Cousins with Achilles and others with knee injuries derailing their teams seasons. Maybe it’s time for the NFL to set a league wide standard for artificial surfaces or a complete return to grass fields. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Allegiant Field in Vegas have both?
