  1. Nice bait man! If you want to make one that dives make it out of ceder. I only use balsa when I want to make a bait that I intend to fish in the 1' to 7' range. Anything that goes deeper I make out of ceder, it doesn't take all that weght to sink it. Good luck
  2. I don't make my own rods but I know that www.jannsnetcraft.com sells books on how to make rods plus kits and supplies. BPS also sells kits ........good luck
  3. Thanks for all the info guys keep it coming
  4. If you want to still fish with spinning gear with a lure that size you are going to have to beef up your gear.A 7' mh rod with a fast tip and a reel with a big spool should get the job done. If your fishing with hard swimbaits then I would go with a baitcaster
  5. I fish smaller swimbaits with spinning gear and they work great.Any swimbait under 4'' I use spinning gear with,I just like it better I gives me more feel
  6. Ok this is not a question about a resume but this seems to be the section of the site that every one talks about how to become a bass pro so I thought I put it here. What would be the best college degree to get if you want to become a bass pro. I want to become a bass pro some time in my life but only after I'm done with college. Any information will be most welcome. Thanks
  7. Does anybody know what the fishing is like on the river bellow Possum kingdom dam TX .I am going on a trip next week and I would be happy to get all the info I can on this part of the river. Thanks
  8. Has anybody ever used or own's these reels.I hear alot of good things about the Megaforce, but I can't find anthing on the Exceler.I plan to put them on Shimano Crucial rods. Any info will be welcomed
  9. These look like higher grade Rods that are a cheaper than a G.Looms.Anybody have them, or used one?
  10. Jimmy Housten won a big event with one but not the classic.
  11. Has anyone ever fished Rick Clunn's signature series rods before? If so, do you think they are a better buy than ugly sticks? I got to get some new rods and these are the two brands I decided on. I've used ugly sticks before but not Rick Clunn's.So please tell me what you thought of them.
  12. I once readed An artical by Jimmy Housten about how to become a bass pro,And since I to want to one day be a bass pro I will pass on his main points, 1.Fish every lake, river, and pond you can, each one will teach you somthing diffrent. 2.Start out as a co-angler it's cheaper and you will get to see the life of a bass pro much clearer, if you start out as a pro then you find out this wasn't what you had in mind then you got problems 3. Go to collage.Bass fishing is becoming bigger in the sports world but you still want to have a job for a few years, you will notice that most pro rookies are in between 25-30 they had a job because you need to keep your family in mind.If you try to live just off your winnings you could find youself broke real fast,So go to collage get a job and save up for you start as a bass pro. hope these points can help you on the way to becoming a bass pro and who knows we might fish against each other one day:) bye know
