  1. I hope we have done that even if we did get off topic
  2. I don't consider passing the sport on to people as forcing them into it. I have created a monster with my two younger brothers, both of them love bass fishing as much as I do and one of them has a serious issue with the bait monkey already. Great posted and pictures guys. Capt.O (Thanks for fixing my mistake grammar)
  3. Thought this article was awesome just wondering if anyone has ordered their shirts yet. http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nba/news/story?id=6611198 GO MAVS
  4. Catt you need to spend some time off the water for a little bit. The Mavs have three guys right now who are in the top ten all time in three pointers. Jason Terry has always been a good scorer just streaky some times. Jason Kidd is one of the best point guards all time and is the smartest basketball player in the game. Have you looked at JJ Bareas numbers ( or his girl friend ) both are amazing. Add that to Dirk and you get a great team. This is a Star Studded finals with Hall Fame guys on both sides of the floor.
  5. I can't pick against my Mavs Mavs in 6
  6. I guess I hijacked the post then, but it wasn't a pure hijack that had nothing what so ever to do with the topic. I just took the original idea and just changed the question which turned into a very interest debate as J puts it. And I think we answered the original question about using plastic weights for rod selection. Now I'm hijacking the post by talking about what constitutes a hijack and this has nothing what so ever to do with the original topic. Capt.O
  7. Yep fair weather fans LOL I'm just kidding And don't doubt the Mavs out next year they might have a lot of vets but other than Kidd they still have a few years left.
  8. Great pictures people keep'em coming. And just so we are clear I realized I put "Past" instead of "Passed" total brain fart Capt.O
  9. Suggestion before you get her signed on might want to hide this thread Does she have a sister? Capt.O
  10. You guys are going down. The Ref's aren't going to be able to win this one for you. Fear the Big German GO MAVS
  11. Yep this is good advice. Like I said if you go that rout send me a pm and I be glad to help you get your service out of the net. I do it all the time for people and it be no problem do it for you. Capt.O
  12. I total snorted my coke though the nose when I read that. Funny
  13. Ok we all say that we help promote the sport but seeing is believing. Post a picture right here of anyone you've taken fishing. Can be anyone doesn't matter who. And it doesn't have to be bass fishing ether. I got this yesterday when I hit the lake for an hour. Of course my younger brothers wanted to come along so I took'em. 5 minutes in and they had a double.
  14. I forgot I'd like to fish with Catt I'd love to see the Jedi Master at work Capt.O
  15. You can learn a lot by looking in the articles on this site Just for Starters Plastic Worms Finessing The Worm There are plenty more so go find'em and then start catching those bass Capt.O
  16. I'd be interested if we could get to the college age Rodeo Queens
  17. Lake Fork or Ray Roberts And lands cheap down there right now so you could if you wanted.
  18. Well chromedog I think we answered your original question about using the weight of soft plastics for rods, to be specific J answered it. But thanks for the post becasue its been one of the best debates I've had on the new site. Who said anything about it giving you confidence? I don't remember using that word or if I did it was a typo. But I think you hit the nail on the head there J it is kinda like line size. Some guys don't think its important while others swear by it. At the end of the day heres what I plan on doing. Getting a senko mold and pour three diffrent types of senkos. One with a lot of salt one with not so much salt, and one with no salt. And these amounts of salt will be measured by weight also. The baits will have the same amount of coloring and no glitter(Thats a later test ) now each one of these baits will be weighed and thier sink rates will be tested in the pool without a hook in them. Then they will be tested with the EXACT SAME HOOk. Once all that data is collected I hit the lake with those baits. That testing will be me fishing with one bait catching some fish then switching it up. It might take a whole year of testing to get any good data (if there is anything important to be discovered). But hey like I said its going to be fun and I'll enjoy it. Capt.O
  19. Well looks like its going to happen guys. It is a little bit more than my budget but for the price is going to be worth it. Check back here in a few months and I might have something to show you. Capt.O
  20. The funny things is that the guys who are the most against this are the ones providing me with the most information. Rest assured I won't just be just lab testing there will be on the water testing to.
  21. Mike I was looking at those and I'm glad you said something about the blank because I was wondering if they where fine. Thanks, Capt.O
  22. Please tell me you did not waste time finding that video
  23. 1. Alton Jones, Jimmy Houston, Ike 2. Alton Jones 3. I'd love to sit down and talk about how to fish a tournament. Also I'd like to see how he breaks down a lake.
  24. My last nemesis bait was the Fluke and only because I hadn't put the time in. Other than that no lure or technique has ever eluded me for long. I always fish something new in a small pond with easy to catch bass. Once I get a few in there I take it out to the big lakes. Now that does not mean every bait is my strength and that I'm great with all of them. What it does mean that If I need to I can do it. I'm also not one of those guys who won't fish something because its to slow or fast. To me a lure is a tool and a tool needs to be used in the right way to catch fish. Don't give up. take it to a small pond catch a few and get back out there because then you will have confidence in it. Capt.O
