  1. 5/27 Fished from 730am to 1pm...caught around 10 bass, biggest at 18''. All caught off soft plastics. Cloud cover helped...as soon as sun came out of clouds after about 11am bite died. I stayed on lower end all day.
  2. fishing mornings & evenings to avoid that mid day heat and dead bite
  3. there are handful of guys that know narrow lanes to run in that have minimal stumps. I have also learned a line from top to bottom where i can go and maybe only nick few stumps. Just go slow you will be ok...maybe take partner to help if for some reason you do get lodged up on a stump as they can be a pain to get off. If you go slow you will be fine...only use gas motor to make big moves i would say, use trolling motor for rest.
  4. ive got 2 due to getting them on sale, never had any problems with them as of yet. Not sure i would have bought them at full price though...
  5. as far as safety goes go slow till you learn lake as stumps are every where just under water and will surprise you when you ride up on one. I would put in at the 701 ramp as you will be at about mid lake easier to access all parts of lake from there. Good luck! Wayne can fill you in on pattern...i haven't been yet this yr!
  6. lucky dog you!!!
  7. Thermacell do work well...if its real windy not so much. I wont go hunting with out one..I don't usually get bit up on the boat so no need for me to use while fishing.

  16. haha red shad is a classic...i also was in love with their fire n ice color. Had a ton of red/blue flake in it.
  17. good stuff....yea growing up we really didn't have much internet...it was like dial up but at time couldn't afford it either. It was all tv shows, mags, and just asking questions from other bass anglers and putting pieces to puzzle together and saddle time..meaning learning by hands on. As i grew up into my teens i met few other friends who also enjoyed bass fishing and it took off from there. One of main reasons why i come on bassresource is bc i can talk bass fishing and people understand. I have added so much more to my arsenal by being a member here and this is my fishing fam i dont have at home
  18. My dad was never the fishing type, makes me sad bc i know we would have a lot of memories together if he did. Anyways with that being said and no real fisherman in my fam i took it upon my self to learn to fish as a kid. Asking questions and watching others as a grew up, reading mags etc! Now i look back and think wow...i taught my self how to become a good angler and didn't really have any help from pops or friends growing up like most do. I can remember catching my 1st bass on a culprit worm and thinking what an accomplishment it was at time " i was a kid" getting a bass to bite an artificial bait. Since then i became in love with bass fishing still to this day!! I have tried to get my dad into fishing, even bought him a shimano reel for fathers day years ago growing up...only to find it in his shed still in the box. With me not having a mentor so to say to follow, i like teaching others who are in same boat as me and enjoy watching them catch fish off knowledge i gave them! Jus curious if anyone had same story as me where you didn't really have someone show you the ropes or introduce you into fishing.
  19. welcome!!
  20. i have the 703sf and LOVE it...going to get another from BTD with the sale going on! I fish flukes, senkos, finesse worms, shakey head, drop shot etc...feels great!
