  4. After reading alot about this subject the past couple taking time to sit back and reflect I can say without a doubt this is the dumbest decision BASS has ever made. Its just another example of how FLW gets it and BASS doesn't. What are the arguements for making it illegal? Well fish cant help themselves its too easy. Well by that reasoning you could have made lots of new techniques illegal. What about flipping? you think if they had a similar rules committee years ago and a few select guys were spanking everybody flipping that you might have some guys say its too easy. In certain situations you cant beat flipping. How is that different? How different woudl bass fishing be without flipping? If its an arguement about the safety of the bass then only allow one bait to have a hook in it. Thats pretty simple. I dont want to see everybody throwing the same thing. Well by that arguement lots of baits would be illegal. How many tournaments are everybody sight fishing? so what if they are using different lures by that comparison they were all using different swimbaits on the Arig I just havent heard many good arguements to make it illegal. I think the dissadvantages of making it illegal will outweigh the advantages.
  5. Its funny but its not like its inforced. Reminds me of the law they found on the Simpsons where they had to catapault criminals from town.
  6. Its because they are discontinued.
  7. Can you share the 10% coupon code.
  8. For the money Vicious Ultimate is hard to beat.
  9. The Hydra rigged regular is supposed to be a great bed bait from what I hear.
  10. I used the Repo Man bait and its a quality bait for sure. It makes alot of noise and the color selection is sweet.
  11. The buzzjet has a prop on it but I consider it really more of a wake bait. The prop on it adds a little splash but really its not a bait you can work like a traditional prop bait. The Kelly J is my favorite by far especially now that they came out with some bluegill colors I think the only reason it took them that long was they didn't want to make it too obvious they were ripping off brians prop bee. Brians prop baits are great as well but I hate paying that much for something when the Kelly J is so similar.
  12. The big thing I noticed about spinnerbaits and jigs is the cheap ones compete pretty well with the expensive ones out of the box. But the skirts hold moisture and after a year or two the cheap baits skirts are falling apart and the components are starting to rust. I am not saying you need $15 baits but quality ones. I have learned its cheaper in the long run to go with baits that have quality components. At least thats the way I see it.
  13. I watched a buddy fish one, quality bait for sure. But there are so many quality jerkbaits out these days I don't see myself needing one.
  14. One made of Oak or Sycamore. In all honesty for bass fishing christmas trees are overrated. Your much better off using Oak, Sycamore, Osage Orange or some type of hardwood.

  17. I love trying new stuff no doubt and alot of great new stuff comes from Japan. But as a tournament angler I can say they are not my style. Most of the techniques are geared for finesse and while they do catch some big fish I am usually better off on most lakes using a more power approach especially since our lakes here have 15in limits for the most part and don't have quality smallies or spots. Not saying they don't work but they are better suited to smallmouth and spotted bass and lakes with 12 in size limits. You don't see many major tournaments won on drop shots where Spots or Smallies are not the main target unless its out west where 12in fish are what you need.

  20. Seem similar from descriptions just curious how they compare. Anybody tried both?
  21. They are nice for sure. I dont know if they are that much better than my curados but they are nice reels for sure. I got some on sale and they are the only reels I will buy other than curados. (I dont want to spend more than $200)
  22. I always liked browning rods. The first rod I ever got was a browning. I still have a browning rod I use but I dont buy them anymore because I prefer the warranty on Loomis and Shimano stuff. But I still really like Browning rods and if I lived close to a Bass Pro where I could return one if needed I would have more. I also got a browning reel and they are nice as well. I cant speak for other rods but Browning rods are nice for sure.
  23. Just got one and havent used it yet. Its 1oz so my standard 6'6m topwater rod wont work. I am leaning toward a 7m cranking stick but was curious what other people throw it on. Its easy to pick a rod for the small sammys but what about the big one.
  24. I dont see myself getting one unless its the 8ft cranking stick. They are a little heavy and I do like the parabolic bend they have but I got 22 rods now and I win a couple more every year so whats the point. I get where you coming from on the warranty but at that price honestly you cant expect a great warranty. In comparison to a few Team All-Star 3 year $80 Mojo 5 year $100 So just getting a lifetime warranty at that price isnt that bad. To me its a question if you like the feel of the rods. They may not be as hot or look as cool but you cant beat the Shimano Compre rods for that price.
  25. The more fishing pressure the more it matters. Also clearer water it matters more and in very muddy water sometimes. In dirty water with little or no fishing pressure it matters the least and in pressured clear water it matters most in my opinion.
