  1. Recently, I bought a package of "Slurpee" jerkbaits... I have been getting some great reactions from the bass on my small lake at home...Has anyone ever used them in a tournament? What was your results and opinions of their use? Which "slurpees" did you use? I will be fishing in 2 tournaments in the next 3 weeks and would like some opinions...Thank you
  2. thank you...that helped a lot...
  3. I have been hearing and reading about people winning tournaments by sight fishing...I have also realized, as being new to tournament fishing, when I ask a question, I am finding out that I am doing a lot of those things that are described, but my understanding of the language of fishing is very basic...and it is taking me awhile to learn the terminology...could someone explain to me what they mean when they say he was "SIGHT FISHING"...thank you for humoring this good ole boy dummy...
  4. As a novice fishing tournaments, what is the best advice you can give me to fish with senko's? Due to the fact I am anal retentive, I would like someone to explain evertything to me...best type and weight of line to use...best size and type of hook...should I use weights or some type of jig or shakey head...and even best approach to fishing it?...thank you, I know you won't let me down...
  5. I want to thank all of you for the previous advice on my first question., especially Zel..Now my second question...I will be fishing the BFL tournaments on High Rock and Wateree in Mid June as a Co/Angler...Again, this is new to me...As a co/Angler what would you recommend my fishing techniques might be...what should I be prepared for..understanding my Boaters' in each event could be vastly different...thanks for your help in advance P.S. Unfortunately in BFL tournaments you do not get your Boater until the night before...I will grill my boaters on their styles that night...
  6. I just fished my first tournament ever(it was the BFL tournament at Lake Gaston) this past weekend as a co/angler. I will be fishing 2 more in June as a co/angler at Lake Wateree and High Rock Lake. I thoroughly enjoyed the tournament and had a wonderful boater to work with. This adventure led me to start thinking about a lot of questions. My boater fished strictly around docks and flipped underneath them. He was very good and caught over 30 fish. He place well in the tournament. He worked very fast and although I really enjoyed watching him, I found myself getting very frustrated. Since he fished these docks fast, I did not feel I was getting enough time for my shakey heads with green lizards to work well in most cases. My questions are these...as a co/angler can you give me any advice on how to fish smart with someone like that...and if I had a boater fish either points or grassy areas or stumps, how as a co/angler fish smart?
