  1. Polycarbonate can't be too bad. My regular prescription bifocals are made of polycarbonate.
  2. I have one of each. I use the 100DSV on my worm rod and the 200D on my spinnerbait rod.
  3. I bought a BPS combo - Citica 200D/Extreme XPS this week. Previously, I bought a Saros/Xtreme XPS spinning combo. BPS is 20+ miles closer to my house. I've never tried the Fish Eagle II rods.
  4. I just picked up a Citica 200D to go along with my Citica 100DSV. These will be my go to reels.
  5. I ended up buying a combo at BPS... Shimano Citica 200D and an Xtreme XPS Woo Davies Spinnerbait rod medium action and 6'6".
  6. Since I bought a new worm rod, I'm wondering if my old worm rod would do for a spinnerbait rod. It is a 20 yr old BPS Tournament Series Pitchin Stik 6' MH rod. Clearly, the new rods would be better. Thoughts?
  7. Go buy one, you will love it. I have a Lowrider XG worm rod. It is a great value for around $109. I haven't tried their lower priced or higher priced line. But, the quality is definitely there. The Lowrider has a 5 yr warranty too.
  8. Ok, the Ugly Stik is on the way out. What to look for in a new spinnerbait rod? Budget around $100.
  9. I picked up a Shimano Citica 100DSV at lunch time. It will be going on my dedicated worm rod.
  10. I'm thinking a new reel is definitely needed for my worm rod. I need to be able to smoothly pitch and cast. Of course, once I use the new reel, I'll want new ones on my other rods too. LOL
  11. All I can say is "WOW". I've recently gotten back into fishing and the reels on the market today seem to be so much smoother than the ones I have from 20 yrs ago. I took mine apart and relubed them. They still don't spin as well as even the cheaper models on the market today. I'm wondering if it is worth it to take my reels in to get serviced and do a proper cleaning and lube. Here is what I have: Abu Garcia 521 Flipping Abu Garcia 4500C and 4500CB Abu Garcia Power4 Quantum 1310MG (two of them) Daiwa PMA33S Daiwa PMA10S I have a feeling they will all run better with a proper cleaning and lube. But, I wonder if they will ever feel as smooth as the decent reels on the market today. After my attempt at cleaning, my reels are definitely quieter and cast ok. But, none are really smooth enough for pitching. Replacing all with $100 - 170 reels could be quite an outlay. I want to eventually have 3-4 rod/reel setups (worm, crankbait, spinner bait and maybe finesse). Suggestions?
  12. I have a Daiwa Samurai rod that is probably 20 yrs old. It works fine for crankbaits and spinner baits. I bought it without a combo back then. Dicks wasn't around back then. Not sure where I bought it.
