  1. Try casting your rod like you are throwing a frisbee. either sinning or baitcasting using a 6'6" to a 7' rod, I find it gives me more controll this way.
  2. My partner has a pair of frog toggs, they work great except they do not keep the water out once its soaked or if you have to sit in your seat. I own a pair of the flw raingear, and i am very satified with them in keeping me dry and warm
  3. You can't beat stuffed bass with crabmeat, celery..
  4. Personally, I think he is doing a great job for our sport. With his excitement, he is drawing in the younger people to this sport.
  5. Let's see.... is it better to daydream on the water or daydream about being on the water while you are at work. I would rather be daydreaming on the water.
  6. The more people in tournaments... the more people to fill my pockets with my winnings ;D ;D No really, I think its great to get all that exposure on tv, it's a honest sport, which anybody can do, large, small young, old, female or male. You don't need steroids to do it. You can have the most expensive bass boat out there and still lose to the guy with the $400.00 jon boat. Hopefully it will encourage the young to join the sport and get away from the video games and enjoy the outdoors.
  7. Patience is the key, wait until the fish starts pulling set the hook. If you are still haveing problems, take a look at your hooks, you may want to replace them or sharpen them.
  8. Sound is the key in muddy water. Try anything that vibrates. Spinnerbaits with a colorado blade works great. Jigs with rattles, cranks with BB's. You can even try the rattle tubes you put inside plastic baits
  9. around rocky areas, use tube jigs or traps
  10. Walmart, but when I get to Dick's, they have some awesome prices on combos. Their lures are a tad pricey
  11. I use a 3/8 oz jig with a pumkin colored craw, works great on smallies in the river
  12. Are you sure you weren't aimin that knive at that red mark the golf ball made ;D
  13. I'm with Squid on the alum. Triton. Try to take a glass boat in areas where squid and I fish. at full tilt we will clear 3" of water try that with a glass boat. The G3 boat, i'm looking at that for a future boat, they have some nice features on these boats.
  14. I have 4 kids, they all fish, they all enjoy it, though the youngest (9) gets bored the earliest. I don't pressure them into staying out all day. I want them to grow up enjoying the sport. Squid and I run a youth program for fishing, these programs are only 3 hours long. We provide the kids with live bait, and let them have fun. It is such a blast to watch the looks on a young childs face when they catch a big fish. Congrads to all who takes a child out fishing
  15. No not moving, looking for clubs for my nephew. He is over by the Winston area. He wants to start out in a smaller club before he hits the big time
  16. I agree with the single hook doing more damage. I have had deep throat hooks, and have lost tournaments from the dead fish. It is best on a deep hook to cut the line near the hook. Trebles hardly get deep enough. they do damage to the area around the jaws, but alot of that is do to the angler.
  17. I'm looking for a list of Bass Clubs in North Carolina. Is there anyone out there that can help me?
  18. Squid and I were out fishing, I'm in front of the boat, we got hung up in some sunk logs with branches coming out of the water. I put one foot on a log, hold one of the branches with my hands, then give a big push, and the boat went out but I stayed there on the log, and the log just went under water. By the time Squid got back to me, I was wet up to I disagree ;D
  19. Skip a tube up under the dock
  20. Go find your Mom now!
  21. I listen to Bassaholic on the way to the ramp, but when it come to being in the boat, it's all nature. Heck I'm deaf enough in or out of the water,my partner Squid has to yell at me anyways ;D
  22. Has to be the jig, need to work with it more. I'm good at everything else ;D
  23. Yep, I agree with squid... though i must of been in the back of the boat alot last year, as I caught the snot out of them over squid ;D
  24. Strength may also be dictated by weather conditions, so you may become versable to match conditions. It's always best to know how to use many different bait for each condition.
