  1. I use falcon rod socks, Shimano covers for spinning reels and tackle warehouse covers for baitcasting reels. I look at my friends rods and reels, who dont do anything to protect them, and just shake my head. Seems silly to not take care of your tools.
  2. I've used electrical tape before. I normally just tie a knot like the guy above said.
  3. now it just needs to warm up and stop raining.
  4. Bass Pro Shops® XPS® Quiver Round Tail Minnow http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-XPS-Quiver-Round-Tail-Minnow/product/44686/-952680
  5. I use Strike King Shakey head jigs and Strike King Elaztech finesse worms. The worms last forever and float like crazy too.
  6. I have had no problems with hang ups

  8. It looks like it has the name Cumulus etched into the foam grip. It also looks like he is using a Cumulus spinning rod and a few CI4s.
  9. Why not buy a 3000 spool from shimano?
  10. I would exchange it for one that works properly.
  11. Got my order in yesterday. Thanks!!!
  12. I wonder if that is a new Cumulus he is using too.
  13. I have no clue, I have nver used the line. See how easy that was? You should try it sometime. It makes you look bad when you just quote things from the box or copy what you see other people posting.
  14. What could you "see" in other braids that made you know there was something special? Or have you actually used it?
  15. My 832 turned my hand green while fishing. All braids might bleed color, but that 832 is a gusher.
  16. Caught this yesterday using a NorthStar jig. Even the full fish eat them. I guess I'll have to put another order in.
  17. I agree. Its the only brand I have used that one worm lasts multiple outings.
  18. I would look into a st croix triumph at that price range. It has the same blanks as some of the more expensive rods without all the ugly they charge extra for.
  19. Sounds like you should throw that one back. Or save your change....she doesn't count your change, right?
  20. The Sedona is the same weight as my Sustain. That will make it easy to answer your balance question. Ill post back when I get a chance to check on that for you. Maybe somebody else will have an answer for you too.
  21. I think you posted the wrong picture, all the Shimano zombies would have smiles. That picture looks like what happens when you blindly recommend a "revo"
  22. What revo are we talking about?
  23. I have used my CUS72MH for just about everything .....senko, jigs, shakeyhead, texas rigs, frogs/topwater and even jerkbaits. As far as balacne goes, I can give you a better answer next time I fish with it. Its currently in a friends boat. Mine is paired with a Sustain 2500 and I dont remember balance being a problem, but I will check for you. Do you know what reel you will be using?
  24. I am sure both ways work. I see "tightening the brakes up" as much "hand holding" as using tape. Both are not the way you will typically fish. Once a person tightens everything down and casts 5 feet w/o a backlash, they start to turn brakes off and expirement to get further casts. This is when the tape would come in handy. Being able to try different types of casts w/o fear of losing half a spool of expensive braid/line and 30 minutes of frustration. I have no problem with the way you choose to learn. Calling another way of doing things "babyish" and saying things like "others like to have their hand held" is condescending and not a good way to get your point across.
  25. I like the idea of tape. I wish someone would have given me that tip when I first started. Nothing made me want to give up on baitcasting more than the backlashes on my first few casts. Id rather pick out a little backlash with tape than have to mess with a giant backlash and possible respooling. Sure, eventually you will ahve to learn to deal with backlashes. Why make it harder on yourself right from the beginning?
