  1. I got nailed fishing the cambridge watershed too; didn't know it was off limits The Smallies in there were gorgeous and eager.....
  2. #8 ....Major factor in why I married my wife; she is a Rabid Football and Baseball Fan (she got ME into fantasy football)
  3. Kid, how many restaurants have you been to that use Corell for their dinnerware? LOL! ;D ;D mmmm....soft shell crabs make me miss the mid-atlantic that much more.....
  4. Awesome! I am so sick of the stupid emails about stuff of that genre. Can't wait to forward this like mad!
  5. Ditto. I wish I had the luxury of choosing when I get to fish. But I don't (not really anyway) so the lunar table doesn't factor in. Am not sure I believe in it anyway. If you had the luxury of choosing when you get to fish....wouldn't it be...ALWAYS! ?? It would for me.. ;D ;D ;D
  6. Madden will be missed. As much as everyone made fun of some of his comments, he was definitely entertaining!
  7. Me too...and I got all of my fellow geeks here at work addicted too.... It still amazes me how easily you can suddenly distract a bunch of ADD 20 and 30 something IT Guys and bring production to a complete halt! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  8. So a buddy of mine from NE is marrying a girl from Texas, being from NM myself, I wanted to put together a Southwest/Texas themed Gag gift for his Bachelor party. Something along the lines of "these are the things you don't learn about Texas girls until after you marry one" type thing. I was thinking a hog-tie kit, spurs and other joke "adult" stuff. ;D ;D ;D Anyone have any good ideas to add? I know this is a family forum, so keep the comments clean...or if you can't, just PM me! Thanks!
  9. Not really anything exciting in hindsight, but I have had a nearsighted snapper come swimming up on me one time that was easily the size of a wheel on a compact car...we noticed each other about the same time and scared the crap out of each other....I went flying up the bank and he went diving down in the water...Then the other day on the same pond, I saw what I thought was a muskrat swimming around off shore...as I watched it for a while I realized it was too big and too fast...had to have been an otter! Didn't know there were otters in our neck of the woods! Then there was the time riding dirt bikes in the desert when we came flying around a blind corner into a small herd of cattle on the trail....we almost had beef for lunch the hard way!
  10. A BIG Bravo Zulu to the Navy's Finest! Wish there were enough of these guys to go around in order to ensure something like this never happened to another American Vessel or crew.
  11. For free, Itunes does a pretty good job; and it's a decent player too.
  12. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,513238,00.html Now if they can juice this guy for info and get the good 'ol USN after 'em!
  13. Noob to noob...my .02 If you can help it, don't start out with a $50.00 reel, go a little higher to the 80-130 range. I got a couple of 50-60 dollar ones last year and beat myself up pretty good with them; fortunately I am quite tenacious and have ALOT of patience --plus I wasn't gonna be beat by a reel so I got to where I can use them efficiently. Recently I was able to pickup a Quantum Accurist PT when the went on super sale at BPS and the difference is night and day....if I had know then, I would have started with a more expensive reel. Also, I made the mistake of trying to use flouro at first when I didn't know anything about it; start with mono or braid.
  14. I think this is the first virus where Microsoft has actually put a bounty out on someone...hehehe
  15. I don't know about the whole acne thing, but I grew up eating apple cider vinegar on spinach...very tasty! :
  16. There was a Rt. 666 (an offshoot of old rt. 66) that ran along the state border between New Mexico and Arizona; it was always referred to as the Devil's Highway and was frequently in the list of the top 20 most deadly highways in the US. It was renamed to 491 in 2003 I think...
  17. Those HE units are wicked nice and supposed to make clothes last longer as well...We picked up a Whirlpool set the middle of last year and my wife is unbelievably happy with them...she almost likes doing laundry... ;D
  18. Thought of some that I really like; Garrett Carson Cole Trevor Collin Conner wow...guess I really like "C" names....
  19. (No Offense Gman) but unless you are a Cowboys fan and die hard about it, I recommend against naming a kid Dallas....it's unique and all but I have spent my entire life telling people..."no, I'm not a Cowboys fan, no I'm not from Texas, etc etc etc... plus all of the other "creative" names people come up with to call you...Austin, Texas, Corpus Christi, Kalamazoo....etc....It's a huge target, especially for kids.... : on the plus side, I guess I did develop a bit of a thicker skin....
  20. We have been doing the same thing, but for a girl due end of May (already have a boy named Cal(vin). I went to one of the baby name sites and just spent time rolling through as many as I could before I went blind, the wrote down the ones I liked; then the wife and I discuss them and narrow it down to a shorter list. Every time we hear one we like alot we add it to the short list. We are pretty much set on the girl's name but roll through the list every once in awhile to see if anything else jumps out.
  21. I am absolutely clueless to the motivation behind this if you are not a commercial fisherman!
  22. I would find this to be somewhat ridiculous if I wasn't absolutely in awe of this reel so far! I know it ain't a ferrari...but when you been driving a Pinto, upgrading to a mustang seems awful impressive... I guess this is just for looks for now since I spooled my 570 with 30# braid. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  23. Ok, so being new to baitcasters (1 yr.) and only having owned "cheapo's" up to this point, I have a question. what is this adjuster for? None of my cheapies have it. Thanks!
  24. Hit my local ponds where most of the ice was gone on sat. and sun. Started out sat by going to BPS and getting my $50.00 accurist pt and noticed that they actually had a 4" Tru-tungsten swimbait in stock!, so I grabbed the only one that wasn't crawdad colored...it is baby bass I think...love the action on this thing (my first swimbait) Anyway saturday was a short outing and the only thing that hit was a small Pickerel...on the swimbait...heh...but, I was mostly working through learning the new reel and rod setup. Sunday I threw everything I had at them....and nothing..still can't get the skunk smell off But, hey! with how the weather was, I can't complain...beautiful day to be out doing anything after the winter we have had! ;D ;D ;D
  25. Mine was wicked tight at first, but after I slid it back and forth once, it was good. I have another question; I looked online and couldn't find anything to reference it. In the center of the reel handle there is a slotted adjuster that I am not familiar with....what's it for? finer adjustment of the mag brake?
