i just had a reel shipped to me overnight via fedex and they failed to deliver it! now i have to wait an extra day and i wont be refunded the extra money for "1 day overnight shipping"
yeah i hated my first e7 a few years back and sold it off, decided to try one of my friend's e7's and it cast like a dream so i picked up another one from www.americanbassoutlet.com and MAN sadly to say i'm picking up another one in a few days!
I just bought a pack not too long ago and my first impression was they smell terrible! Besides that the action is great!! But the durability is mediocre and the price is steep.
This weekend I was fishing and it rained to the point where all of my plano boxes were exposed to rain for about 8hours, got home and they were filled with water. They don't show any signs of rust right now.
It's like getting to test drive a Ferrari and going back to a Geo Metro. They both can get you from point A to point B but the Ferrari will run circles around it.
If you're just fishing for fun then a $25 dollar rod will get the job done. If you want to fish tournaments or clubs where theres money on the line then of course you'd want the best you can get your hands on. Some people just do it because it's there hobby and they're enthusiasts who enjoy having nice stuff. Some might not be able to justify a Steez or Loomis set up but to each his own.
I'll usually go and check out online reviews on store websites or forums then go see how the reel feels in person. If a reel gets good reviews in general it can't be that bad. I'm a huge Daiwa fan for casting reels, but I've been using Shimano spinning reels my entire life so thats what I'll recommend.
