  1. the only problem is, some plastics don't mix well with other plastics and will melt, such as the strike king 3x line up. also colors tend to bleed between lighter and darker shades no matter what brand. but i see that as a good thing.
  2. I usually Texas rig my Brush Hogs with a pegged bullet weight. use it around weeds, lily pads, docks and hold on tight.
  3. get me one too
  4. i rarely use my extremely small collection of lipped cranks, also i barely use lizards. :-/
  5. I forgot who specifically posted this but i read it somewhere on bass resource. "Make your jig imitate a crayfish, so move it like you think a crayfish would move." I take that theory and put it to use with majority of my soft plastic uses. I drag my crayfish/lizards slowly. i'll use my worms slow & let them sink naturally and when on the bottom i'll just give them a little hop. but really its all in how the fish would like it that day. sometimes they're inactive and the slow style of fishing will keep the lure in their face longer. other days they'll want it fast just start your trip by fishing both ways until you figure out.
  6. buzzbait, hollow body frog or soft plastic frog; bump the structure and wait for a show.
  7. also when i'm too lazy to flip/pitch a jig i'll flip a weightless wacky rigged senko into pockets. but SHHHHHHHH don't tell anyone its one of my favorite things to do.
  8. the jig bite around here usually feels like a freight train is on the other end of the line. but if the bite is more subtle just stare at your line. naturally your jig wont fall left or right just vertically so any sudden movement or sideways travel just set the hook, hooksets are free. i find it easier to see my line (12lb yozuri hybrid in green) with my polarized glasses on. it really helps if your line/rod combo is higher quality too so you'll have more sensitivity. i've gone from a BPS bionic blade to a st croix mojo bass and its a WORLD of difference. honestly i think the rod makes a HUGE difference. I was fishing my mojo bass and a 3/8 ounce jig under a small bridge, then after a few casts i used my buddy's st croix legend elite flippin under the SAME bridge, i felt structure that i didnt even know existed with the mojo rod. all that expensive equipment aside, 95% of my jig bites the fish just ATTACK the lure.
  9. i usually use them till they have no arms or they can't stay on the hook anymore, i always superglue them if they cant stay on the hook but have arms left.
  10. lamar odom? gary fisher? pau gasol!? the lakers are actually full of decent talent.
  11. caught on a wacky jig//finesse worm, i didn't wanna touch it so i had my buddy hold it while i snapped the picture.
  12. monster!!!
  13. how ironic i just had a conversation with my good friend about this subject today. i felt like i had too many hobbies and if i quit some of them i might become proficient in one of them. ;D here are a few of my hobbies: 0) Fishing 1) Acoustic Guitar 2) Basketball 3) Computers (gaming & multimedia) 4) home entertainment 5) Automobiles 6) Photography (i recently sold off majority of my equipment) 7) Fashion (nothing too wild, i'm just not too interested in wearing my pants below my waist and a shirt big enough to be a dress, i also know how to tie a tie ) I'm the jack of all trades, master of none. ;D ;D
  14. i love the jig/worm bite when you just feel that THUMP THUMP THUMP and WHAM just cross their eyes with a "bill dance" hook set. ;D ;D ;D
  15. Andrew, Take that trigger rod you found & throw a baitcast reel on it and start learning how to pitch & flip. It seems you primarily fish metro's marsh side and there are a few simple patterns to that side, the docks are a little bit different. for the marsh: 1) (you already figured it out) fish slowly with a texas rigged worm. 2) flipping weightless wacky senkos into holes 3) topwater frog/ 4) cast a spinnerbait & burn it almost to shore and KILL it right at the end of the weeds. for the docks: 1) slow roll a spinnerbait so it bumps the bottom 2) texas rigged crayfish 3) shakey head or a wacky jig those are a few of the easier patterns for metro beach, if i bump into you again i'll show you some more nifty tricks, although you probably have figured them out already.
  16. holy cow that thing is bulging! :-? we were catching MASSIVE rockbass on my local inland lake this weekend, the rockbass were big enough to hit a 3/8 ounce jig & ragetail lobster
  17. must be the new coffee scent!
  18. sweet a new video to study!!!
  19. nice! i went to BPS tonight just to randomly shop and i TOTALLY forgot my ticket. got there and saw everyone in a line waiting to hand them in and i'm like. :sigh: living 30 minutes away i figured it wasn't worth the trip back. :'(
  20. i've caught a couple off of the anaconda, but none off the spacemonkey YET. I just haven't been able to put the lobster down because honestly i'm hooked on jig fishing at the moment. :) :D
  21. caught 2 more today off of the jig & lobster, I dedicate these fish to big-O, RW, and LBH ;D LBH i still have your jig fishing video on my hard drive. i ran out of lobsters today so i had to go buy another pack
  22. i've used rage tail, culprit, yum, ***, berkley and probably a few more i can't remember off the top of my head. they all seem to catch the same for me. : but the rage tails are probably the most versatile because you can do so much more with them.
  23. I've had great success with a 3/8 ounce football head jig, with a ragetail lobster trailer. rage tail lobster > all trailers it seems to have the most action and they have the best color selection. jig wise just pick one with a nice hook i don't even remember the brand of my football heads but they all have gamakatsu hooks. color wise just pick whatever you like or try to "match the hatch" i usually go for darker colors.
  24. few steps ahead of you RW, i've been secretly studying your posts and had tons of success with the anaconda & space monkey but i was especially excited with these fish because they were my first decent jig fish.
  25. I had my first day with productive jig fishing. Before hand i had only caught a 20" northern pike and a 8" lmb. Today i was throwing a gander mt football head black & blue with a rage tail lobster in big tex color and they wont let that thing go! i probably caught about 10 in a couple hours fishing parallel to the bank. here are a few pictures ignore the silly faces i was extremely excited ;D
