  1. Personally I'm really looking forward to it being my second trip and all. My first trip I found it awkward at times not knowing screen names with faces but that wore off. I met some of the nicest, funniest, and luckiest (how many times did CJ win a reel?) people I have ever met. I only wish that storm with cold weather hadn't hit us those first couple days. Being further to the south and a couple weeks later I'm hoping we hit a killer spawn/ post spawn bite. I'm determined to catch some smallies as well.
  2. I prefer to dip as I need it but regardless, the strongest, longest lasting scent I have used. Permeate your bait. Plus tackle box, boat, and yourself if your not careful. I'll never forget JJ opening some at our roadtrip in the closed dining cabin. I wonder if glenn got his deposit back. ;D
  3. I just got them a couple days ago from the Xmas exchange. I don't have a Academy around here either but I begged my partner for some H20 baits. I was ecstatic when I opened my gift! These things should be killer around here. I have several clear lakes with tons of sunfish and some great ponds with big bluegill and big bass!!
  4. BTW if anybody has any bass video's on DVD they would like to make a back up of just PM. I'll do it for free and mail it back to ya.
  5. From what I can remember from the roadtrip. He liked War eagle spinnerbaits or was it ???? ah I can't remember. I also know Pitchinkid liked Flappin Hogs but I don't know if Jimzee does as well.
  6. Alwayslooking got me a Bluegill/sunfish swimbait package from Academy and they LOOK AWESOME! It's to cold right now to throw them but these things look amazing. The individual pricing is also awesome starting at 9$.
  7. Keri I can tell ya bassfishingmagician thought out your gifts hard. We talked some via PM and he was worried about what to get 'for somebody who had everything". I thought what he came up with was spot on. After you try the season let us know how it is I might make him send me some.
  8. I also got give a shout out to Alwayslooking man! He went above and beyond the call of duty. I cried to him about how I didn't have a Academy and he sent me so many lures and Bluegill swimbaits I'm going to need another tackle box! I just hope Alwayslooking gets close to the amount of enjoyment I'm going to get out of his. You sir are now on my buddy list and I hope to see you at the Roadtrip! MERRY CHRISTMAS BR!!!
  9. Well this thread has got me thinking about it. So here in no particular order is what I want to do in 2010. 1) Become proficient in the Drop Shot 2) Improve my ability to locate fish all seasons. In the early early spring at times I strugle while other times it's a feast. In may and early June I rock, but come July they move deep and suspend and I feel I need to improve my ability to find them. 3)Become proficient with a spoon. 4) Win at least one Club tournament this year. 5) Finish in the top 5 in my club. 6) Always my goal, get a double digit bass or at least break my PB!!
  10. HAHA that's funny. Who needs sonar.....
  11. I'd say for me it was the summer of 08. I was fishing a frog in heavy grass and pads. I did this all sumer long and caught a ton of lunkers doing it. This day was strange though. A cold front had JUST came though and it was very early and the sun was just starting to come over head. I was walking my frog threw a open spot in the pads on a point. One side led to deep water and the other a shallow flat. While I was walking it all of a sudden a bass surfaced like it was Jaws it probably was in this pond. From close to 10 yards away the thing took off from shallow watter with the top fin and the top of it's tail showing. I was about to have a heart attack this thing was huge! I was certain it was a state record bass. It nailed the frog and I did everything I could to count to two before I set the hook. Then I let loose and I set it HARD , but my rod didn't move! We both stood there fighting each other. I kept thinking to myself "how can I get this fish up on top of the grass and get him in". I tried everything I could but to no avail. I finally decidided I'd wade out the 15 yards and get him. I'd did this before with fish and I knew it was shallow enough that I wouldn't be swimming. The only think that scared me was a ton of nasty snakes we had seen in the area. So I finally mustered up enough courage and took a few steps toward the fish but I made a mistake. I didn't reel in the slack fast enough and the hook became loose and fell out. I console myself still today trying to convince myself it was a catfish but it wasn't. It was the biggest bas I'd ever seen and it dwarfed the 7 pounder I caught later that year.
  12. From what I can remember liquor was more scarce then gold in that dry county. I'm surprised you didn't get robbed by Rod point.
  13. JimmyMo3287 I totally agree. if only his neighbor had got him a Citica.
  14. Sure will big guy. My dad suffers from chronic back as well and has chosen to medicate over surgery. IMHO I think you guys are making the right decision and good luck! I'm sure all of us here at BR will keep her in our thoughts and prayers.
  15. Guys the trip last year was worth it just for RW. One night at dinner he's falling over chairs and the next he's screaming "Don't eat the chicken". All the while Big-O downs several pieces of possibly under cooked chicken and had a look in his eye that made me think he was Rabid. Then there was Procrafter my roomate who's 2 fish always turned into 10 and a 12incher turned into a 18 incher. ;D All and all it was of the best times of my life. I look forward to this one. BTW if anybody is wanting to get a cabin and need another roomate let me know.
  16. Wow fishfordollars I really hope somebody can help you. I'm usually very good at tech stuff but I've got no clue here. I hope it's sitting on somebodies server somewhere. I'd keep trying AT&T, I'm sure somebody higher up should be able to authorize some help for you.
  17. I'm usually throwing a jig with a Rage Lobster for a big presentation or a war eagle finesse jig the a trimmed rage claw for clear watter. Sometimes I'll also throw a texas rigged Rage craw. When the watter is colder I go to the Flappin hog or beavers.
  18. I'm about to file a lawsuit claiming discrimination toward non confederate states!
  19. MattinOK I hate you for posting this!! I'm getting more and more mad by the day that I don't have a Academy with in a 100 miles of me. The only way you can get on my good side is to mail me a couple and have me send you the cash. ;D
  20. Color scheme is the same but I'm betting that's a very different frog from the spro.
  21. I was half expecting you to ask what size makes a good fillet. ;D
  22. These just came out this fall. I think they came out in November or October.
  23. Coming in 2010 the Ike Troll doll!! ;D
  24. Why not make a new thread asking for a Xmas exchange partner. I'm sure somebody on here would love to.
  25. Are we certain this is legit? I haven't seen it on a single online news site ESPN,CNN, ect.
