  1. As for braid ive been using it for sometime now... PowerPro in the 100lb range (musky) and 30lb for bass. PowerPro is a good line, fairly limp, good casting, and tough. One issue is that it bleeds the colour (fade). I have only noticed line fading colour, while Ive heard others complain it left some green tint to the hands. Ive jus started using the Sufix and so far I believe this is a better line, if only marginally. It is rounder which makes for better spooling.
  2. I have both a Quantum TE and a Zillion in the burner... I dont think you can get a better reel for the money right now than you can with the Quantum. The best reel is another matter...Zillion. And if what I hear is true about an all red Zillion...
  3. bass fishing....4-6 rods, generally 3 or 4 baitcasters musky fishing....8 rods, all baitcasters
  4. i have a parabolic stix...very nice
  5. i have one in the 7.0:1 ratio and really like it. its spooled with some hybrid line and have had no issue as of yet.
  6. im a musky fisherman most of the time and i dont use steel with them...and im hunt'n for em! flouro all the way...
  7. check the musky shops online...rollie and helens or thorne bros.
  8. Did I mention they are good lookin'! I'm not being sarcastic either. I really dig the orange blank...the market needed some flava! X2
  9. Five of diamonds spoon followed by the daredevil...
  10. That thing could say it was made from specially blended grizzly bear pubic hair and I would still use it I like my parabolic rod...not the best rod ever, but worth every penny so far.
  11. ...you are correct.
  12. it wasnt mine but... when i was a boy, three of us were out in a cartopper untangling lines and after we had gotten the two untied we noticed one rod missing. a quick scan around the area showed a butt of a rod waving in the air, caught on some weeds. my friend grabbed it and reeled to find an 8 lbs largie. and for Canada thats no slouch!
  13. structure is the most important aspect... with lures...i use tubes 70% of the time, followed by jig/pig
  14. ive got lots of the spooks in all shapes and sizes, but these glossa's are small, jointed and the bodies are triangular in form.
  15. anyone have any experience using these little guys? got a bunch given to me the other day.
  16. You should try lipp'n a musky!!
  17. a buddy of mine has solar bat and likes them. im using H30's and love them. they are around 100 bucks and included a case, lanyard and three different coloured lenses. great customer service and warranty also.
  18. last week i found an old spool of berkley's iron silk #12 (copolymer i believe) that was never opened and put it on a Quantum TE B/C. I have used it a couple of times and think its pretty good stuff. I have no issues with it as of yet. It is manageable and casts well. The only problem is I dont think they sell it anymore...???
  19. Another trick I learned years ago when first learning to chuck huge musky baits on b/c's was to keep the handle either on top or bottom (depending if its a lefty) when casting... a legendary musky boy taught me that. I still do it today...
  20. Oh how I need an all red Zillion :)
  21. got my parabolic carrot today...common saturday!
  22. i wouldnt say its an all-round reel. but i use mine for both cranks and spinner baits...when ripp'n em is the ticket.
  23. We only have small mom and pop style stores here...BPS is putting in a store in Calgary (8hrs away)....and I dont think leaving Nuclear Medicine for a manager would be too popular with the ol' gal. Like I said, I buy 80% of my gear (both hunting and fishing) off the internet, but sometimes whether its due to guilt or in need of something quickly, I venture to the stores, and come home cuss'n! It just kinda got to me today, with the guy almost treating me like I had no idea or business fishing. >
  24. Lake Ontario has good numbers and large fish. I cant see it being any different whether youre on the Canadian or American side.
