  1. I, being left handed, had a difficult time finding a decent holster at a reasonable price. I finally ended up looking at Elite Survival.....great holsters and they are built well: http://www.elitesurvival.com/concealment-holsters/ I am bigger so inside the pant didn't seem to be an option....I bought the thumb break paddle model and it does very well.
  2. Can privacy issues be explained to me in layman's terms. What is Google doing with cookies in IE and how does Mozilla play into this? Thanks for any info
  3. Kelley, weren't you just telling me about how you had wished for a little more of the fluffy stuff.....something about building snowmen and making snow angels I think. LOL I got lucky and missed out on most of it, only got about 5 or so inches......stay warm my friend!
  4. And how! Coming from the central part of Wisconsin, I don't remember ever seeing this much green and brown in the middle of January. Gonna get out first blast in several weeks in the next couple of days.....5-8 inches.........weather's been crazy.
  5. Happy Birthday big dog! Best wishes for many more
  6. Keepin' on keepin' on!
  7. I was the one pranked....a few years ago while musky fishing I had one rolling around my boat for several minutes. Every minute or two it would roll behind my back without me getting a look at it, and finally it happened, turned out to be an otter playing!
  8. I built one about 4 years ago doing most of my own labor for about $50 per sq ft. My guess is you would be spending about $85-100 per sq ft. having everything farmed out. The points made above really tell the story though. I'd be curious to hear what you find from builder estimates.
  9. If it's strictly for home defense I would opt for a cyl. bore pistol grip shotgun using lighter loads...IMO, 00 buck would be a decent choice. The lighter load would give you better control, less recoil, and hopefully less wall penetration. Racking a round does sound menacing and could be enough of a deterrent but my biggest fear in a home defense scenario is only getting one shot in the dark of the night and then being blinded by the muzzle flash and not getting a follow-up; a round from a shotgun vs. a revolver or pistol would, I think, give you a better first shot success. My reasoning for the pistol grip would be to keep the fire arm closer to your person without the barrel hanging out there too far giving the assailant a chance to make a grab for it. In an ensuing struggle, that could really turn the tables on you. just my .02
  10. I wondered how long it would be before we got to the playing card tactics. My ma could never keep enough clothes pins to keep the neighborhood kids supplied.
  11. Well, FWIW, the Bersa 40 has been a great shooter. It's got a snappy recoil but not unmanageable. Out of the box it gave me an 8" group @ 30ft. which tightened up pretty quick after 30 or 40 rounds. The decocker isn't as pleasant as it could be but the single and double action pulls are what you would expect out of the more expensive counterparts; travel smooth and creep minimal. Definitely worth a look if your interest is in a functional semi-auto without paying for the name.
  12. Hey guys, it's been ages..... Years ago I had a Bersa Thunder .380, man what a great little gun; not not one of the elites, but it sure was a shooter. With Wisconsin recently passing it's version of a cc law I have just picked up a Bersa Thunder UC40. Other that the generally good reviews that I have come across, does anyone have any personal experience they can add? Micro, your thoughts?
  13. Ken, it's been awhile......great pics and I love the report. I had to laugh at the one pic where your dad didn't want you to take it.....he's giving you the "boy would I like to" look. LOL
  14. Eric, you can also get molds to pour your own and of any color you choose. Google paver molds or something like that.
  15. .....most likely the dog
  16. Glen, Aside from anything else you do, have done, or will do in life, you have developed a fine legacy here...congratulations; it's well earned ...just looking at my tag, VL would be proud of you.
  17. Retired from reloading, that's all I mostly used...
  18. "The people...the people....many are just walking around like zombies"....I talked with some friends of mine who were caught up in it on their way south, this is exactly how they described it. Such devastation, my best for those that made it and my sympathies for those that didn't.
  19. My great grandma, or is it grand mother, called all of it pee water.
  20. Neat right up, glad you all had fun.....those burgers sure look like they were good! Ronnie, who ever did that to your thumb should understand that soft plastics work better; much easier to cast also.
  21. 3 times as bad when the clock spring was broke... As far as the site, I haven't had much time to explore, but so far it's been fun checkin out all the nooks and crannys... Kelley, when you hit Michigan, I think you need a ferry ride to the Packerland!!
  22. You guys remember this from a couple of years ago: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beauty/student-wears-jeans-for-15-months-proves-they-have-no-more-germs-than-after-13-days-2444364
  23. Thanks Glenn.....good read DB!
