  1. Fish always change what they want, moody like women. Of course, this is also a good thing because if you could throw the same presentation all the time and catch fish, fishing would be plain boring. But it can be hard to build confidence in lures when fish hit them for 1 or 2 days, then they don't and you're left wondering why, and being limited to bank fishing and a very very small selection of tackle doesn't help in my situation. Sometimes I wish I could just tie on the lure that always works, toss it in, and reel in fish, but that is a longshot.
  2. Well, I've never caught big enough fish on a consistent basis to justify buying a scale... definitely thinking about it now though
  3. So I'm pretty much slaying 3-5 lbers on trick worms. Well, maybe not slaying, but I caught three real nice fish today, and probably will go back out again this evening. I don't have a scale so I can only guess weight. ^ 4 lber I'd say 3lber ^ Probably a 2 lber ^ Here's another shot of the 4?lber
  4. He is fatter, his mouth is not a big though, and not quite as long. I'd say the first pic is a 4 pounder, and the second is a 3 lber, just my guess. Much appreciated man definitely going to continue to build confidence on the trick worm.
  5. Just went back to around the same area I caught the guy above, pulled out maybe a 3 pounder? Then threw again and caught a little dink next cast, on the trick worm.
  6. Slow rolled trick worm is catching me fish, just caught the biggest I've caught yet off a trick worm... any ideas how much this thug weighs? ^ I wear a size 11 shoe, looks like a kids sandal. This guy was deceptively heavy, I'd say 4 pounds at least. Trick worms killin it.
  7. After some research, apparently the point of the hook doesn't have to be turnt off to the side, but the hook needs to be an "offset" hook, making the point of the hook not inline with the eye of the hook... looks like an owner offset shank wide gap worm hook is what I'm looking for now that I realized this.
  8. I read that having the point off-set allows much more room for the fish to grab and get hooked onto than the inline counterpart. Better hook up ratios.
  9. I'm looking for a wide gap worm hook that has an offset hook point like the picture I posted, and an offset shank aswell. The offset shank would be like a typical worm hook... the offset point, however, not so much it seems.
  10. Trying to find a wide gap hook that has an offset tip, and an offset shank ^ This is an offset circle hook, not what I am looking for but I'm using it to clarify what I mean by offset tip, as there seems to be confusion when looking for these offset point hooks. Is there even a wide gap, offset shank and point worm hook produced? If not, what offset point hook would I use to t rig a worm?
  11. I've never used SK ones, all I know is that the killer wiggle action of the zoom trick worm catches fish. It wiggles on a very slow roll, and shimmys on a fall. Deadly. How do the SKs compare to the action of the zooms?
  12. Seaguar invisix isn't too pricy, and I don't burn through much line.
  13. It is only in 5:2:1 ratio but they have different retrieve rates http://www.pfluegerfishing.com/Pflueger%C2%AE-President%C2%AE-Spinning-Reel/1280293,default,pd.html The 6930 has a 25.2 retrieve rate
  14. That reel looks really good. What retrieve rate should I get? Would be throwing spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, crankbaits, soft swimbaits, on fluorocarbon.
  15. I need of a quality spinning reel less than $50. Wording is a little tricky for the search function, and hard to find anything online, help much appreciated.
