  1. Who should I root for? As an OU fan, I must root for Bama. As a "Big XII fan" I root for texas. (side note: conference fans? Really? I am an OU fan. I really don't understand the concept of conference fans. I have a buddy that was a hardcore Arkansas/Houston Nutt fan. Houston left, so my friend denounced the Razorbacks for going soft and getting an offensive minded head coach. But he's still an SEC fan, even though he doesn't like a single team. I find that kinda funny.) As an SEC fan hater, I root for texas. Note that I sad "SEC fan hater" and not "SEC hater." I can't hate on the SEC for being great. But I am tired of "conference fans" (see above rant). I'm tired of hearing Vandy, Kentucky, Miss State, etc fans chanting SEC SEC SEC. I think I'm going to root for Colt McCoy. He is a GREAT leader, player, person, and quarterback. I'd rather have him than Tebow any day. And I feel he is somewhat underrated. So, let's go Colt!
  2. Great show. I'm anticipating Swamp Loggers.
  3. Why? That never stopped Notre Dame.
  4. I was at our deer camp last week. It's just a small single room building and we don't keep the heat on unless we're there. Needless to say, it was cold. I got a Dr. Pepper out of the fridge, took a drink, and set it down on a table while I went back to the truck to bring in some gear. When I got back, there was Dr. Pepper all over the table and the drink was starting to freeze. I'm happiest when I'm warm. I don't know how the guys up north do it.
  5. True, they don't play in the SEC. True, the conference is weak. But what about Utah/Alabama or BSU/OU? They have proved that they can play with the big boys. They deserve their shot.
  6. Your best bet may be a waterproof housing for a regular camera.
  7. Demps didn't break his arm. He dislocated his elbow. And that occured when he put his arm down to the ground to stay up...before the Cincy player touched him. That's why he fell awkwardly...causing the Cincy player to "drop a knee on him."
  8. Probably a ridiculously awesome single action.
  9. Go Bearcats.
  10. Bama should roll, but I wouldn't count out Bevo just yet.
  11. Well, at least it took the attention off of the whole Urban Meyer "will he stay or will he go" love affair.
  12. I'm watching the Armed Forces Bowl right now...and guess who pops up during the halftime show. You guessed it. There's that video by Daddy James again. "We're the victims...we're trying to protect our son." It's starting to make me sick. ESPN shows that video every 5 minutes. Tech just royally screwed itself. Somebody is going to get a good coach or OC.
  13. I'm using a Spyderco Sharpmaker. I've never tried the lansky. Has anybody out there used both and would like to offer a little feedback?
  14. Yes, the wall actually fell in late 1989... but it wasn't until 1990 until the effects of the event began--reunification--which was part of that decade. That can be compared to 9/11, which also occurred at the very beginning of its decade. I was just trying to make the point that people often "forget" major events by the end of the decade. The tech boom exploded in the 90's...and the Cold War seemed to be in the distant past. The same could be said of how the nation has healed itself and moved on after 9/11. I guess having a short memory can actually be a good thing. Hell, I guess I should have written that more clearly. Congratulations for successfully tearing apart my previous post. Now give yourselves a big pat on the back.
  15. Yes...BB gun fights. One of my friends took a cheap shot at me one time. The next day I shot him with my pellet gun. Sweet, sweet revenge. Looking back, we were idiots. The sad part is that it wasn't too long ago. Currently... Mountain biking, cliff jumping, and driving. I swear...the average person does not know how to drive. And for the most part, the stereotype is true. Women can't drive.
  16. I hate to say this, but... There is no doubt 9/11 was the most traumatic, widespread, unifying, etc event of the decade. However, it seems to me that a lot of people have already forgotten about it. It seems as though the misadventures following it in Iraq/Afghanistan have overshadowed it. But the most important event? The event that changed the most lives? I'd have to give that to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, the symbolic end of the Cold War. This decade can be remembered as a decade in which two superpowers were not trying to blow the hell out of each other...and take the rest of the world with them. This got me thinking...I was trying to come up with something that impacts society for long periods of time...but I couldn't think of anything. Our world today heals itself and changes so quickly. Remember 1990? The Cold War almost means nothing now. I'm not trying to undermine things like 9/11, etc. I'm just making an observation.
  17. Same here...
  18. Wow. Was this the guy from Norman? I had several conversations about OU with him. Seemed like a great guy. Very informative.
  19. I was there. Dude stomped him.
  20. I'd have to throw Vince Young into the discussion.
  21. Check with your friends. My friends and I trade gen ed books around.
  22. Long time, no see. I thought I'd drop in to see how the old gang is doing. College as been busy, so I haven't been able to put together a decent fishing trip in over 4 months. I've got a massive Honors paper due tomorrow...but I'm procrastinating. I haven't been able to do a single thing since Jones threw 5 int against Nebraska. It's depressing. :-/ Anyways...I just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm still alive. All is good. College is pretty much awesome, without a doubt the best time of my life. I don't have much time for BR anymore...but I'll try to drop in from time to time.
  23. Some do it for meat. Some do it for horns. Some do it for the rush. I like to do it because it gives me another excuse to be outside in the beautiful word that we live in. Every hunter should enjoy that, whether it's sitting in a box with feeders (which I have done) or crawling his way through thorn patches (which I have done). As long as the meat is not wasted and the game is taken legally, I see no problem.
  24. Look whos back? Where you been? Ballet camp? Yeah, I've been around scantily dressed women for the last few months. It tends to cut into my forum time. I just couldn't pass up you dissing shark week.
  25. You suck.
