    You need the DVD or firewire to get the video on your computer. Then, it can be edited through a variety of programs, such as Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Premiere Pro.

    If you are experiencing full shut down, then the computer might be overheating. I had a fan go out in my old computer that caused this problem.
