  5. Lake Norfork, Northern Arkansas It's not my Ideal place to fish, but every summer, my family go up there for vaction. Last year was my best year (14 keepers for 6 days of fishing, thanks to RW and his Fat Ika) Hopefully, It will repeat this year.
  6. I pray about everything. Why? It works.
  7. ;D ;D ;D...wait one more... ;D
  8. I just reread my post, and i'd like to add to it a little. Like others, I have no problem with people expressing their heritage. I come from a very large German family (SCHMIDT) and am very proud of it. But i do agree, I think it divides people. We must stand together. That's why they call it the UNITED States.
  9. Well, with a little advice from the guys here, I finally managed to finish my first rod build. It's a Cabelas kit, cheap, but it's a pretty nice handling rod considering the price. I have a feeling i'm going to be spending a lot more money on these in the future. :-/ http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/hookemdown/?action=view&current=100_0373.jpg http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/hookemdown/?action=view&current=100_0371.jpg http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/hookemdown/?action=view&current=100_0374.jpg
  10. One of the few country songs that I do like. Weddings? Does the wife know about this?
  11. That is pretty cool. But I did kinda think that it was one of those tricks that get you to stare at the screen and then BAM! a scary face and loud music pops up. But indefinitely cool, indeed.
  12. Speaking of cottonmouths..... Me and my brother was fishing at a local pond, moved to a spot about 20 foot from were we started. Fished there for about 10 minutes before we looked down. There was a 4 foot cottonmouth ASLEEP, sitting about 6 inches behind my brother. He thought it was dead, and poked it with a stick to make sure. NOPE, the snake was still alive and kickin. We got out of there in a HURRY! That could have been a bad day.
  13. YES! EXACTLY! PERFECT! I've told this to my family a hundred times. If you were born in America your and AMERICAN...period. If you wasn't born in America, and you become one through the various processes, YOU Are not an an American. Remember it like our great seal tells it: E Pluribus Unum, Which means " Out of many, ONE
  14. Exactly
  15. Wow, I thought I was the only one here who liked XT. Cheap, reliable, durable, CHEAP, good castability, CHEAP..... I've never found a line with a more bang for the buck than XT. But I will say this, Hybrid Ultra soft is what I use on my spinning rods now. I use #4
  16. ehhhh.......decent........
  17. Yes Please, Logan Schmidt
  18. Thanks everybody. Bucketmouth, I am very disapointed in you. I expectected the lecture from the older guys, but not a well defined, young citizen like yourself...
  19. Thanks for the replys everyone. I showed him the post. He said that he didn't really know how big of a deal it was to me, and that he thought that with me getting older, I would't want to do as many things with him. Well not that's set straight, and everythings great now. Thanks everyone again. CART, Here's what would happen if I told him that. "Hey dad, you need to join a gym. (Pause) SLAP to the face! : J/K
  20. No no no no...... The old wiggle warts were a piece of crap, I'll be glad to take them off your hands.... But seriously, the old WW were some of the best cranks ever made. They're hard to come around now, so people are are willing to spend a little for them.
  21. Thank's at least I'm not the only one. But it's really not that my dad isn't in enough physical condition to do it , I just don't think he has a heart for it anymore. He has given me countless memories in the field with him, hopefully I can do that same with my son....or daughter :-/
  22. I was supposed to go turkey hunting today. All the gear was packed up and ready to go, sitting right by the door, everything in order. My dad walks in, his first words are "son, it's too nasty to go today, let's go next saturday when the weather is better." Sure it's nasty, but the rain moved out last night. My dad used to take me fishing all the time, and go hunting every time he got off from work. He would stay up with me and watch a baseball game at 2 o'clock in the morning. But he doesn't hardly do anything anymore. I've got older parents than most kids my age. My mom is 55 and my dad is 52. I can't wait till I'm 16, so I can drive down to the pond, or up to the woods. But that won't ever replace my dad. I guess I just miss him. (p.s. : all the old guys here, don't tell me "son, don't rush your childhood away..." Trust me, i've already heard it.
  23. Just keep hanging in there unabasser. I know how it feels to lose a loved one. Your in my prayers, Hookemdown
  24. Well, I can tell you one thing..... I'M PUMPED!!!!!!! Tomorrow is opening day, and i've been ready since the last season closed. I like to duck hunt. Like to deer hunt. Really like to squirrel hunt. Really really really enjoy fishing. BUT I LOVE TURKEY SEASON!! I wish the best of luck to all the hunters this year, but for now, I got to go bag a few gobblers. 8-)
  25. Well, first off, there is smallies down south. RW fishes in the Tennessee river which HE thinks will bear the next world record. Lakes around here (north arkansas) also have smallies. But these lakes tend to be very large and very deep. Smallmouth are native to cold, fast moving waters. Like T-rig said, most southern lakes are too shallow and get too warm to host the smallmouth.
