  1. I was happy being a group leader in the test lab in the engineering group. Go any further in management no freaking way. Any move up in management I'd own my own business if I'm going to call the shots. Corporate level Engineering group test lab job vs in the woods logging. The corporate benefits were great the $$ was great but I was happier in the woods. Being retired is good.
  2. Well at the mall drainage pond the bass grew from dinks to 2/3lbers very quickly I'll say in 3 -4 years. The food source is the key to fast growth. Plus a healthy eco system.

Color C Lector?? I have five combo c lectors. Some are brand new. I have the early color c lector too. Explain. They made numbered lures to match what color the combo c lectors or color c lector chose. Someday ill buy the spike it color selector too.
  4. Son were all broke.
  5. Southern bass prefer hush puppies with ketchup clips.
  6. Retie, retie often. I use the better quality ball bearing locking snap swivels on my topwater, crankbaits and spinnerbaits. On the crankbaits and topwater spooks using locking snap p swivels they allow more side to side movement and a much smoother action. If the bait has a rattle it's ringing the dinnerbell. I use the standard locking snap swivels on my c-rigs.
  7. Wal-Mart's best clearances happen in January thro March. Checkout DSG too.

  9. Even the family members and some Freinds don't know I'm packing. It's the element of surprise if something goes down. I teach every family member to learn the location of the exits and hiding out places when there eating out or at the mall. Don't ever kick in the panic mode keep your head on straight and your mind into survival mode. Look at and remember where all the closet exits are. What if the lights went out. Yes there are battery exit signs but what if they went out. Trust nothing to go right. Rely on yourself to get out with your family. Get them to a safe area. Don't trust me. Sit at your kitchen table, at night. Close all lights, close your eyes and try to get out. Now light the lights count the steps and turn to the door. Now put the lights out and try it again. My point when you walk in a restaurant count the steps, how many steps to a turn. It's not hard to remember which direction the door is in to get out. Stay calm just this could save your life. Godbless
  10. I just purchased three new OKUMA metaliod spinning reel. Not many left around discontinued. These were more expensive in there day. New there cheaper now. Ill post pics
  11. I read about the NYC officer killed and heard his last radio call. Then I read about the police k9 killed in action. Now a fisherman. Not good. My thoughts and prayers go out for everyone. I'd love to move to my place hidden in the mountains.
  12. There are lots of good books on defense. I have a few of them. Great winter reading.
  13. Get it soon. Any deeper running CRANKBAIT that's hits the bottom should hook it. True story. I lost a CRANKBAIT months ago. Using the same CRANKBAIT I hooked it while fishing. I wasn't looking for it. The hooks tarnished. Then I lost the CRANKBAIT I was using. Returned one then lost the other. Go figure. At my hot spots I stand in the exact same spot. I pulled out a very old spinning reel setup probably from the 60's. The chrome eyes were rusted, the reel was rusted. I threw it back over board.
  14. I was outside in the car while my son used the ATM. The guy sitting down drinking a coffee was watching my son. The door in front of my car was the only way out of the place. Luckily he never made a move.We have to watch and be aware of our surroundings now. I good guy can't even go fishing. Once a person decides to ccw carry it's a 27/4/365 day job like your keys and wallet. Society surely has changed.
  15. How soon everyone forgets the night fisherman in Boston being stabbed to death with his own knife. About two to three decades ago. After reading about these senseless murders we think about the copycats. I carried a 1911 with 8 mags on me with a box of ammo in the car right after Boston happened when night fishing. Never fish alone. I think if anything will ever happen it would be at an ATM. I don't use ATM's. Nothing is safe anymore.
  16. No problem. I just noticed sometimes when I see the spinnerbait nothing happens. Then when I slow it up so it's out of my sight I get strikes. I wonder now if we can have two different water conditions above the sight line and below the sight line.
  17. Everybody here talks about the high dollar equipment. Ill bet that 90% of the fisherman don't use expensive equipment.I can't talk about the lesser priced equipment here. We don't get others like me here. There scared to post. I can't mention the new rod I'm using but others can they got no message warning. That's odd.
  18. I use a #3 mepps Anglia inline picking off bass till the action slows down. When the action stops I upside to a #4/#5 inline. I find the bigger fish come into see what the smaller fish are doing but won't strike the smaller bait. The larger size bait works.
  19. When did the ratings of rods change from a action rating to a power rating? I been corrected many times here about a power being the rating over a action rating. I went looking at some of my rods and there action rated.
  20. Don't forget I'm shore fishing. I'm about 2'-3' above the waters surface. Above the sight line nothing is chasing my bait. But when I slow it down the bait is out of my sight but well within the basses sight I get strikes.
  21. I see on tv fishing shows they take a double blade inline and stop the boat and using a long rod and make a big figure eight with the lure. The pike strike it. Over stocked bait & tackle has pike/muskie lures
  22. I wish we had a few topics separating the high dollar products and the affordable fishing equipment so everyone could get involved here. How do you pick a fishing rod? Top Shelf, high dollar newest thang? Sale or bargain? Last years model will do? Affordable old new stock? I still have south bend, Shakespeare, but also use all-star, Berkeley, lews, quantum rods. Does the cost of our equipment and brand separate all of us fisherman? I wish we had a shore fishing section. A section where us frugal fisherman can talk. Maybe a bass resources II sight. We have so much to offer to other fisherman who won't post here.
  23. May God take you on his bass fishing team Gregg. RIP. I'm fishing in the dark alone but my buddy with his Freinds are protecting me. They don't like me being interrupted when I'm fishing. Fight crime shoot back.
  24. I think of all those bass being caught ending up on the dinner table. The bass populations being thinned out. The garbage being left at the place by garbage. My hot spot for shore fishing being changed so much I need a boat to continue fishing.
