  1. Ok I'm fishing and land one bass. I figured this one is for my kittens. A guy walks up with his girlfriend looks at my bass and starts telling her the one he caught the other day was bigger. I put my fish on my clip stringer in the water. I then walked my gear to the car. I come back my fish is gone. I looked at him and I said nothing. Karma works in many ways he caught nothing. Like one fish I take per year is going to hurt the population.
  2. While one color or size may catch a few bass another color could load the boat. Plus the bass don't see all the colors all the time like we do. When I find a new bait that works I buy an assortment of colors too. On a tough day change colors.
  3. Eating just plain turkey for four days now. My reduced intake is working out well. I have 70lbs to lose by spring. Salad great. Small portions works good.
  4. I watch reruns of Hank Parker, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston on ESPN sometimes. I wish they had these shows on primetime. Even the old FISHING HOLE shows with Jerry Mckinnis are good too. He's on early on Saturday mornings. I owe Hank Parker with showing me my first successful CRANKBAIT. The Mann's baby 1 in browncraw. I call it the Hank Parker Special. Caught bass and salmon on this one. Rapala F7 blue = the blue max
  5. OKUMA Expitor spinning reel. I use the fin-nor ahab lite but it's no longer offered. I like these spinning reels too. I use the Okums metaliod spinning reel too and that's discontinued too. Awesome reels.
  6. New line every spring. Check the line after every trip for abrasions. Remove about 20ft or more till no rough areas are felt. During each outing as bass in numbers or bigger bass are caught retie your knot. Retie before every outing. Check the amount of line on the spool often. Before it affects your casting distance. Don't hesitate to respool new line. Some places we fish the water for some reason the harsh water, structure or rocks makes the line rough. It eats line check it and respool as needed. Halfway through the season respool. After every trip wipe the reel and rod down. After every season, remove the old line, disassemble the reel, clean it, inspect it for wear, relube it. Wipe the rod down check it for wear.
  7. Good one,,, guy walks up this place is fished out. He casts the same spinnerbait every time I see him. The exact same color no trailer. Then he comes over again as I land a bass on a CRANKBAIT. He says do those lures work. He just seen me pull a bass in. Before I could answer him bass number two is landed. Then he answers his own question, I guess they do work. Then I put scent on the CRANKBAIT. Another question does that juice work. Before I could answer number three bass is landed. Then he says the juice does work and can you spray my lure with it? I did just to get rid of him. When I'm in my zone I don't talk or like to be bothered. I'm focusing on what I'm doing. I will stop to help kids if they show an interest.
  8. I just wrapped up my Christmas shopping. Everyone will be fishing this year with c-rigs and Bizzbaits and Sieberts jigs.
  9. Safer for the grandchildren now.
  10. I made a woodstove. Lit it outside to cure and temper it. I let it heat up and cool down a few times. While it was hot I shot it with stove black heat paint. Used it since '87 @ my camp in vt. Still black.

  12. There is no way these pictures are faked.
  13. It's like putting money in the bank? Like paying only $2.00 a gallon for gas when you know it's $5 by spring. Save now or pay more later.

I'm thankful for my family they are here for me. I'm thankful for my BR Brothers here even thou they razz me.
  20. Like the gator hunter says there's noises in the swamp at night even he doesn't want to know what it is. Somethings are better left alone.
  21. My point is keep an open mind.
  22. Yum 6" money minnow, light dying minnow presentation. Work it slow like a easy meal. If it's cold with snow flurries that's even better. Fish till the ice over. Swimbaits. I'm waiting for the snow flurries then the big guns are coming out. I lost the biggest bass of my life during this time. Time to fish it hard.
  23. TW order for larger weight storming hornets. Need bigger ones.
  24. I wish I had Bigfoot pics. Time to buy a good camera and get good pics not fuzzy ones. My famous bacon cheeseburgers with fried onions between a grill cheese does lure him in. I hate sharing my viddles but I'm going to have too. The screams make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I open all the vents on the camp trailer so the cheeseburger/bacon smell goes up and over the mountain. The BFRO GUYS got the frying bacon idea from me when I contacted them. If ya look at my pic I have no neck I hope the Bigfoot gals don't think I'm there long lost cousin and available? I don't like hairy arm pits and legs. Lmao
  25. I'm just kidding. I'm ok money wise. To continue to fish it helps to spread the wealth and keep it affordable. Plus our sponcers keep supporting this sight For us. Without them we'd be pay for view think about it.
