  1. I like a good P&J sammach but also a salami, cheese with hotdog relish. Sometimes the salami or cheese becomes bait when it’s slow. Even the panfish has gourmet tastes.
  2. I’m not a big sports fan but I watch football when nothing else is on. I gave up watching the NFL. That’s all I’m going to say about that. But I love watching college football. These kids play there hearts out. Good honest football. They play for the game not the fame and fortune. I like the college hoops too.
  3. Yes they work. But I find any bait will catch fish sooner or later. I give every bait a chance to jump in the pool. On a slow day I throw them all with different presentations. I practice till a bass interrupts me. I hate when that happens.
  4. I don’t compete when I fish with anyone. I like to see everyone catch fish. That keeps them hooked in this sport. I do stop to help the kids near me catch fish too. I give back what I can.
  5. Bass fishing is a great sport/hobby. Once you find the nitch your hooked.
  6. I had shoulder pain before too. I run the shower hot water as hot as I can take it. Everyday, it seems to help.
  7. In my pic I was 390/400lbs. That bass was 6lbs 1oz. I just lost 100lbs. I have another 100lbs to go. A half sammach of lettuce for lunch, one frozen waffle for breakfast. One broiled pork chop for supper(example) if I’m up late at night and get up late I eat breakfast and skip lunch. I have a snack mid afternoon. when i was logging firewood being very active I was down to 290lbs. I had arms like popeye, built like a tree trunk. Able to jump on stone walls at will. riding the dirtbike with the son I lost 60lbs in three months. Human score “0” bike score “1”. Lol i know I have a 40 pack now but there’s a 12pack trying to get out. my plan is to drop 50lbs over the winter. My goal is 250lbs by spring. Then 200lbs by next winter. i just shut off my appetite in my mind. when I was told I had prostate cancer I was 390lbs. The radiation machine could only hold 360lbs. I was down to 340lbs right away. Figure certain death at 390 but life at 340 right? The cancer did take away some muscle.
  8. My dad had problems drinking, gambling and had nothing in return. I tried to help him but he was happy so I left him alone. I don’t drink, smoke or gamble. My money is in my tackleboxes. that first night bass fishing with a front approaching(rain in two hours away yet) we put on mepps #3 in-line spinners and we caught doubles for a while. I just purchased the mepps basser kit. Just opened up the package. That was priceless. A moment sealed in time with my son. We went from using livebait to using only lures from that night on. Too bad you didn’t collect the M Jackson stuff? Lol
  9. Decades ago the kids in the neighborhood were sneaking into the local water shed and were having awesome results with a golden color lazy Ike/ flatfish lure. The kids told me to look at tag sales and flea markets for them. I have one but no new ones can be found. I need to paint some up.
  10. Depending on the size of the river or stream I use smaller inline spinners, spinflys, rebel crawfish crankbaits. The spinners I bring them over the top of rocks sticking above the water and drop them into the pools behind the rocks. I purchase the discounted, clearance baits to use in rivers and streams.
  11. Take the brass and reload it’s easy. SNS casting has leadcast bullets affordable. Keep shooting affordable, shoot more for less.
  12. I can cast a 5/8oz topnocker using my 7’ spinning rod with excaliber silver thread copolymere 8lb test line farther than anyone else near me. I owe it to the copolymere line and length of the rod. Distance wise I don’t have good hooksets at that distance nor can I control the basses movements. I can’t hold there heads up on the bigger bass. Fishing from shore distance matters sometimes. But it’s taking a chance.
  13. I use the standard excaliber silver thread copolymere line. It’s not the an40. This standard copolymere line surpassed all the other lines in it class in the bending and abrasive testing, excaliber had it posted on their website at onetime. when I started bass fishing decades ago before bass fishing I was using the Garcia river mist mono line. I think it was a $1 a spool. After losing some decent bass my search for good line at that time began. I chose excaliber silver thread line over its test results. I been using it to this day. my pb10lbs was caught on silver thread 8lb test. I landed a snapping turtle the size of the 30” tall tire on my jeep on 8lb test. He was clawing and fighting all the way in.
  14. Never seen those Bomber cranks. I use mainly Bomber crankbaits too. That appleredcraw in the above pic is one of the hottest colors here. Found them on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/7-BOMBER-MODEL-9A-FISHING-LURES-/222673902895
  15. We can rant all we want or complain about the cost of fishing. But it really pays off for us in the bottom line. Think about it we don’t waste money. We get to use everything we purchase. I can’t think of a better hobby to spent my time and money on. It can be addicting at times. i don’t drink or use drugs, I Hardley drive now. All my mad money goes on fishing stuff every so often. When ever I find a new bait to me that works I do purchased one for everyone in the family who fishes. This keeps my family interested in fishing too.
  16. I find my favorite copolymere line is discontinued. I got lucky and found some on eBay. I find it has less stretch over regular mono. Bill
  17. All I’m going to say is I never fish by myself even though I look to be alone. That’s all I’m going to say about that, my thoughts and and prayers go out for the victum here.
  18. I just purchased three 110's and one 130 I think it is the longest one. i hope they work better then bait balls are collecting dust. Maybe they will be antique someday and worth money.
  19. There are different ways to put line on your spool. Could that cause your line twist? i use ball bearing locking snap swivels. There at Walmart besides the expensive ones at cabelas/BPS.
  20. I got lucky,,,, since my favorite topwater bait was discontinued by BpS topnocker I been bummed out. I found three in new condition. I have a full set of them in all colors plus now. Time to get some painted.
  21. Topwater,,,, They tend to slap the bait first then turn and strike it. As soon as the topwater action starts watch your line for movement. If it moves do a quick sweep back hook set "quickly".
  22. You have her hooked when is the wedding? Marry her in a boat on the water. So we all can come? love at first hook? Lol
  23. I made one trip in November just before thanksgiving, I was tossing a yum money minnow. I used the dying minnow twitch. I latched on to the biggest bass I ever had on my line. It was snow flurries too. Don't give up till the ice is on. the bass don't give up so soon too.
  24. For a new state record maybe......
  25. We can never have too many baits trust me. I probably own every brand. It's that's certain rattle sound wether it's fine or a loud knocker. That tight wiggle of it a wide wiggle. Either was we have an edge when we use scent too. Sometimes I use a scent sometimes I don't I wing it.
