  1. battle scars!!!!!
  2. learn to tie the trilene knot and then see which one you're more comfortable with, they are both great knots, I know I just hate fumbling around tying something I'm not comfortable with, especially if i'm on the fish, learn to tie as many as possible, you never know when a you may need one
  3. improved clinch or palomar depending on the application, and I have been known to add a drop of glue to the knot to lock it down
  4. Ok, I was set on the revo until a friend suggested I check out the BPS Nitro combo. has anyone used this reel? No, I'm not looking to compare the two b/c I'm still gonna get the stx but I'm also thinking about the other, let me know what you guys think
  5. Welcome to texas. The best advice I could give you for just catching fish from the shore is to look for ponds at city parks, libraries, golf courses, etc... I lived in Carrollton for several years and found myself fishing in all kinds of places that nobody would have ever thought of, and caught some pretty decent fish. And if you happen to be outside of the city limits don't be afraid to talk to some of the farmers and ranchers around you, they may have stock tanks that will hold fish. Good luck, and if you ever find yourself in canton shoot me a pm I know lots of places to wet a hook
  6. Ok, I'm looking in the range of 200 to 300, I have been using mono, but I'm seriously considering the switch to braid for this new rig (flippin/pitchin into heavy cover). It's gonna go on a 7'1" Mossyback heavy fast tip. I have a few reels in mind my first choice being the revo stx or premier due to their outstanding drag power, has anyone had any problems or complaints about these reels
  7. forgot to mention I'll use this for a flippin/pitchin setup
  8. I'm looking into buying a new b/c reel, I haven't purchased anything new in more than 6 years and was wondering if ya'll had any suggestions. I've been using an Abu tournament pro, a couple of other abu's and a shimano calcutta
