  1. Triton Mike: Why a bow mount TM and 2 transom mount TM? You have really put some work into that boat? Just wondering, what kind of $$$ you going to have in that outfit versus just buying it already fixed up? The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking of doing a similar thing, buying a jon and fixing it up...
  2. Looking to buy a 16' Jon boat, will need to get a transom mount trolling motor... Any suggestions as to brand?? Lb. trust needed? Length of shaft? And most of all what battery will I need to have a good day of fishing??? ANY SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
  3. Are the Optima Batteries worth the price???
  4. Glenn, that explains how to get a pic in your post, but where do I find out how to get a pic as my avatar??? I've been on here awile, but I'm not a computer wiz, I'm a fishing wiz... BIG DIFFERENCE
  5. As you can tell by that statement at the bottom of my avatar, "I love to take my 8yr old son fishing" I've been doing it now for 3-4 yrs, the thing with taking a kid fishing is to keep their interest, I started taking him places where he could catch Bluegill & Crappie pretty easily. Once I started doing that he was hooked, once that was going good I started taking him camping and fishing, then he got used to camping, he is the ultimate boy now, loves to go camping and fishing... (during that time he wanted to join the Cub Scouts, so we did that, and he really likes it) I have a huge camping and fishing trip planned for the Memorial Day weekend for him and some of his Cub Scout buddies (about 6 of them), since it's going to be a 3 day weekend I have lots of activities planned for the boys, ought to be a wonderful weekend... When it comes to kids you have to keep them interested, once you have their interest they will take it from there... they are the future of our sport, so teach them well and have a good time, thats all that matters...
  6. I use a brass klacker with a hollowed out center against my knot and ahead of that is my glass beads and my sinker, that way your knot suffers no abbrasion and you get plenty of noise from it... I fish C-rigs frequently and have noticed a huge difference between not using noise makers and using them... If you don't use them I feel that you are definately decreasing your chances... The noise is created ahead of your bait so that once your bait arrives the fish are very curious about about what in the heck is making that noise about the time your lizard, craw or whatever you are fishing gets there, once they realize it look out its on... PS- an option that I have tried with some success is C-riggin a husky jerk, works good...
  7. I agree, I live in Southern Ohio. Our fishing season, quality of fish, quantity of fish doesn't even compare to people in the south and the west. A fishing technique or method that works in one area of the country might not work in my neck of the woods. Location is a big key to someones fishing success...
  8. What are you wanting to have displayed on the shirt??? The reason I ask, is that my wife is a computer graphic designer, she does all of the the designs for our school system for basketball, football, baseball and so forth.. She did a design for the school system that you had your choice of a t-shirt, LS shirt, sweatshirt or hooded sweatshirt, and the weren't very expensive screened from a local screener and they are good quality shirts & designs. I'm sure my wife could design what ever you would want. When she did the shirts it was $24 for hooded sweatshirts, $22 for sweatshirts, $18 for LS t-shirts and $12 for t-shirts... just an idea for ya...
  9. love the 100 & 200 series...
  10. Nick Barr... I like your list, anyone of those would be good to spend a day with... I would have to go with KVD as my favorite, I've always liked his style of fishing, it's alot like mine... One other that I would add to the list is Davy Hite, I think he is just a great person...
  11. ebisukhan... I'll send you a PM to get your address...
  12. I've been having the same problem for some reason, don't know why??
  13. The Bass Pro Shops DVD's & Videos are mostly technique specific... They are pretty good and informative, I have them from KVD, Larry Nixon and Woo Daves...
  14. Wonder why they are not on Bombers website?
  15. I went to the Bomber website and I don't see the "Square A" listed, I see Model A, Flat A & Fat A, but no Square A, are they still made? If so, where can you find them?
  16. GamblerOH... On some of the Lowrance finders you can switch it over so that it shows as a flasher... is that the same as a flasher only unit or is it a little slower like it is if you are using it as a finder?
  17. Mono Tube or Jig?
  18. [glb]GREAT JOB!!![/glb] :o Just wondering, how much of the paint product was needed ( Primers & Paint) and what was the cost involved for the painting process?
  19. Yeah, the prices of new new boats are off the hook... I make good money, but I won't pay these prices they are asking... I'll try to find a used boat at a good price....
  20. Usually when the water gets hot you gotta go deeper... Crankbaits Jigs Worms Tubes Try some Carolina riggin...
  21. Although this is a "General Bass Fishing" forum, look on the bright side... The "Musky" is known as "the fish of 10,000 casts"...
  22. NICE... although I've never caught a bass going that fast... Sounds like goggles would be a necessity!!!
  23. Mac7373, I think that in the movie "STRIPES", they used a statement that went something like this: "Lighten up Francis"
  24. Personally, I would not buy a glass boat any smaller than 18'6", if you can get something within your budget thats longer thats great, but nothing shorter than 18'6"...
  25. hydrillagorilla, can't go wrong with a stratos for that price... nice deal...
